DBPro's being a pain in my rearend. How? It's the limitations. I can't even make simple text editor that can work with a file bigger than 32k. That's only about 16 pages of code. The DBPro forum members need a place to rant after a hard day's coding. Then others can see their fustrations and possibly avoid them. Lee and Mike have their development diaries for that, plus it would be a good way to let off steam and possibly rethink your coding strategy.

P.S. Anyone got any rants, problems or bugs that just won't go away?

Didn't want so much a random rant site as a place for DB members to complain about software and programming issues.

Sometimes you come across a programming roadblock. It's not a bug, but it might be a limitation. You can't find a way around it and there's no way for you to fix it yourself. The DBPro Forum won't help as it's not lack of knowledge of the language, but rather lack of language for the knowledge. And bug Reports won't help it either. Maybe a feature request or a change request or limitation removal forum might help.

If that's the only problem you're having, then you're not being creative enough.
Use a memblock to store the text, or better yet, just load 2 or 3 pages rather than 16.

As for my contribution to the ranting... Intersect Object won't work with scaled objects.

I don't think it would be in TGC's interest to have a rant Forum.

@BatVink
I don't think they are either. (But it's ok no one likes to listen to complainers.)

So the bugs are still a pain and the work arounds I've found only help the problem slightly. For example I've tried TKF15H's answers to my problem before posting this and with memblocks you increase system memory usage alot and with the 2-3 page option you can't search/copy/paste the entire file, plus you have to do buffering which makes the code a lot more complex than it should have to be. Many times you find a problem. You know you can work around and a rant forum let's you work on it while getting others input. I've sort of used my WIP forum for this. So in the end if you have something worth ranting about there is a forum for it. I just had figured it out yet.

P.S. The intersect object thing does need fixing.

Anyway, rants over. Mods do as you see fit to this thread. Lock it, delete it, sticky it. It doesn't really matter. Good news is, I found a work around for my bugs... They're still there, just way off in the distance now. I just need to do a little more work to banish them completely.
