Hi can anyone help? I want to load music within my game from CD, and change tracks. Only thing is that the command LOAD CDMUSIC X,X brings up an error 'cannot load music'. The DBC example does not work either. I have a music CD in obviously but no joy. There does not appear to be any mention in the forums of a bug or anyone else having a problem.

Maybe it's just your computer.
Have you tried other CD's?

If the DBC example doesn't work, I'd say it must be your machine specific - as the example works for me

It's never worked in any version of DBC - for me anyway!

Worked once upon a time, when I was using that old laptop of mine that only had one CD drive. Heh.

You're living in the past, anyway - Rip the music to MP3s, or install an Ogg Vorbis DirectMedia filter and play OGG files!

Syntax Error - Learn to type, you fool!

The whole point of using the CD Player is for the game players to be able to select whatever music they like when they play. My game is a board game very accurately based on the real thing including the enviroment its usualy played in. Therefore mp3's and OGG files are completely useless in this instance.
I need the CD Player to actually work as one.

You could always use the MCI interface, or spawn a music player in the background.

[Insert extremely witty comment here] :: Add me to MSN if you like, but don't expect any big favours [unless you like VB6]. ... IDK!!

Yeah, I think the problem lies in which DarkBASIC is reading from a drive that doesn't have the disk in it. I have 2 drives, and I have put the CD in both of them, and it still won't work. The drive letters for mine are E and D, but, they still don't work. That's probably the worst command there is.
