does anyone know any dlls that allow u to control usb ports or any tutorials on using dark basic pro for interfacing with usb ports

DBpro doesn't interact with 'ports'. Rather it interacts with devices: Ex: a joystick or a drive. If you're looking into reading/writing to a portable USB drive, it should come up as one of the drives in 'PERFORM CHECKLIST FOR DRIVES'. Input devices, such as joysticks, can be used through the [INPUT] command set.

thanks but its not input devices or anything like that im after im just getting into robotics and thought it would be easier if i could make control programs in darkbasic pro. so id need something that can send instructions to a oopic microcontroller or similar device.

Couldn't you send commands via COM1? Many computers don't even use that port anymore for mice. It shouldn't be hard to hook your robot to a serial port. I'm not sure if this will really work or not.

You can access USB through a dll. Not natively through Pro though. I'll see what my research of my hard drive will bring up as I was doing some USB work, some time ago.
