Since the middle of June and friend and I have been working on our own programming language, which we have dubbed 'Compound Basic'. We're writing it in PB, and its still very much a work in progress.

Here are a few early screenshots of the main debugger and debugger output windows as well as a simple console program:

We should be releasing an early beta fairly soon, and we'd like to get a small group of testers together. Beta testers bug reports and general suggestions will be very dearly taken into account by us .

If you're interested in being a beta tester then please send an email to me at:

Killswitch,

Does PB stand for PlayBasic? Is this project just an experiment or to create a truly useful language? I am just curious, and am not being critical.

Yep, definitely PureBasic. As the PlayBasic Win Gui library isn't release yet.

Although I'm confused as to what the screen shots are displaying ? Good start anyway

Its written in PureBasic - sorry I should have been more clear. None of the actual commands are wrappers for PB internal commands - I had to write the commands from scratch. Although PBs internal commands are, as you say, very good for console and GUI programs.

This is a project to create a truely useful basic language.

@uwdesign

The first screenshot is of the main debugger window. It tells you which file your running, how many lines are in it how many variables are in the code and later it will show which line of code its actually on. The second screenshot is of the debugger output, with a command called 'Debug' or 'Output' (I haven't decided which to use yet) you can display data on the window. Its useful for testing purposes. The last screenshot is an actual program written in Compound Basic.

Hope that clears things up a little . I am still looking for beta testers, I've had one reply so far - thank you!
