I'm looking for the best web hosting application *web server. A web server is an application is an application which allows you to host your website from your PC. At the moment I am using xitima but this limets the download speed far too much meaning that the end max speed is around 28kbps.

You're looking for a web server. Xitami is good and doesn't limit upload/download speeds by default, so you'll probably find it's your ISP!

Popular web servers include: Apache, IIS, PWS, thttpd.

Thanks everyone. Xitami: Well I'm a complete internet noob in the sense that I don't really know how it all works. I suppose, if I can download at around 200kbps then I should be able to provide at around 200kbps through the webservers? Is there a setting I may have accidently changed?

Note: I'm going to france for the next 2 weeks so can't reply...
