This ad's hilarious, everyone should watch it! Turn up the volume to a reasonable level and enjoy.

Very Nice!

That's great!

Draught is my prefered beer too, so it's great to see that giants made out of little people like it as well

Yay!

Anyone know how to get the .viv file to play on my PC without having to connect to the darn net everytime?

perhaps look at the source of the page and then try your browser cache.
or use a ripper like one i have for QT movies that are shell protected with a stub loader.

You need a ViVo Player (unfortunately, no longer free), although I've personally downloaded a .mov version I found elsewhere on the net. Although, the quality isn't as high and it's a smaller size.

if the viv player isn't free, then how do we watch it?

Unless the browser has it built in, which would mean that there's a plug-in in FF, which would subsequently mean that when I choose Open-With FF, then it should play, but it doesn't

indi, I downloaded the .viv file ( not too hard ), but I just can't play the file

The 'player' should ask to install everytime you load the page, so I don't believe it's permanent. Then again, I really don't know how it works, it's fairly old technology apparently.

Ok, why did that get a certificate 18? I could understand a PG for the mild language, but 18? Only thing I can think of is that it's adverting a product that you have to be 18+ to buy, but I'd be surprised if that's it.

Other then that, yeah that's quite good, reminds be of those 'talk-talk' ads channel 4 (UK channel) have been plugging recently. Only this is much more impressive because there's so many more people involved.

That is correct, the warning is only there because you must be 18 to drink alcoholic beverages.

That theme music sounds very familiar... I can't place it.

My god, not only did they 3D model half the thing, but it would seem like they also only paid the actors to walk, and did voicing elsewere...

Then use IE... firefox does have the compatable plugin's error, mainly because it is new, but then again...

Avan Madisen, look at microsoft... they know that XP is crap, but they only use it because Bill will fire them if they don't . But then again, microsoft is not a beer company...

Pretty funny, thought for some reason it only displayed in 256 Colours. I had that issue in the past with the stand alone players with the current drivers (77.72) but they're all fine now, so god knows what the problem is.

There's no 3D in that ad at all, the whole thing was filmed as is on location in New Zealand. They literally got thousands of actors to form the shapes and run through the motions. It took months to complete and cost $1.5 million to make.

You know of any converters? Anything playable by Winamp will do

And that would explain why there are so many of the same faces popping up in the close ups. And would explain how in god's name they could possibly hold a perfect shape.

Wait--- I just saw the different version on TV again, but it was for Rickards Red, a Molson beer. I wonder if Carlton owns Molson, or vice versa?

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I just picked up the latest (November 2005) '3D World' magazine and noticed that it has a two page spread dedicated to the ad.

Only 700 polys per character and 1000 polys for their robes!

The models are basic skeletons with a robe draped over them created in 'Maya' and animated in 'Massive' which was originally developed for 'Lord of the Rings' apparently.

Quoting Exeat:
Quote: "There's no 3D in that ad at all, the whole thing was filmed as is on location in New Zealand. They literally got thousands of actors to form the shapes and run through the motions. It took months to complete and cost $1.5 million to make."
