I have been using Reiners Tilesets to make a 2D isometric tile based game. However, using photoshop to mask out the colours and replace them with terrain textures was becoming a little tedious.
So I have written a small application to make it all automatically.

The attached file is a pdf manual which explains how it works.

There is still a little left to work on but it is very nearly complete.

[Edit] It is now complete and you can download it by clicking here

Wow that looks pretty nice scraggle

School is supposed to be teaching our kids how to read and write. Not about dangerous drugs like PHP.

Certainly

There is one in the pdf attached to the first post but to save you downloading here is one I prepared earlier using the tiles from the first post.

Well ... I said in the first post that it was almost complete. I now have a beta version ready for download.

I have included some graphics in the download but not many. The reason for that is a legal one. I contacted Reiner Prokein (the creator of the graphics) and he had this to say:

Quote: "I give you the NON-exclusive right to use and to include my graphics to your app . As long as it is just a few . And as long as you donĀ“t start to provide my raw graphics as an extra download . This would be a resource page , which i cannot allow

Good luck with your app

Regards

Reiner"

So, here it is. My Tileset Generator using just a few of Reiners graphics.

You can download it by here by clicking here
and if you want to download some more graphics to use with it then although I can't provide them myself, I can point you in the right direction ... here!

Please let me know what you think.

Thanks

Is that tileset 4x4 or 8x8? I cant quite make out where one starts and ends! hehe..

Looks superb though - does it make transitional tiles (like land->water for all 4 edges and all 4 corners?)

I made a 2D terrain program - works pretty well imho

The tiles themselves are 64x48 pixels and that particular tileset is 8x13 tiles.

@Scraggle:

I just tried out your program Really nice GUI! I see you've used Blue Gui (I use that myself!).
I just found some bugs you may wanna fix.

First of all the image in the about isn't fit in the window. Also whenever you open the "Load primary terrain", "Load secondary terrain" and the "Load border mask" and then press the Cancel button the program will close and you'll get a crashon. Just Pointing them out so you can get a more stable program

Hi Nerd

Thanks for the input

You are right about the cancel button causing a crash ... I will work on that thank you. But what do you mean about the 'about' image not fitting? I can't recreate that one.

This is the image on my machine:

Does it look different on yours?
