Okay, so I rented a PS2 from the local video store. This morning I got on it and playued Star Wars Starfightr. It palyed fine, no proboblems. So then I go to paly Jonny Moseley Mad Trix, and what happens? I get the screen that says Browser, and right below that it says System Configuration. I went to browser, and then I get a screen that says, "Disc read eror". O.K., so I figure, well, just try again. Same thing. I try it with the memory card, without it. I tried Starfighter again, and the same thing. Disk read eror.
I tried calling the video store but they werent any help. So I thought someone here might help me.

Thanks,
Chris

Get a Vacuum cleaner and vacuum for a good amount of time - (ie: a solid 30 minutes) in the grills in the side of the PS2.

Failing that, get a lens cleaner.

PS2's are notorious for getting 'disk read errors' - I had to replace mine twice completely because of it. (You have to phone Sony up and shell out £70) I don't know why I bothered actually...

You could open it up and clean the lens with a Cotton Bud (I beleive it is also known as a Q-Tip(?)) dipped in rubbing alcohol. I did this several times, now I have the new slimeline one. Seems to work better...

Yea. Nevermind. The video store is giving me a rebate, and I'm just gonna use it for an XBox rental.
