Now that is damn good! I swear if anyone asks me again "what do you mean retro? why can't I rip the graphics?" I'll just point them here!

Awesome stuff. I used to own this game on my MSX so I'm going to be testing it VERY carefully (if you get it done in time, it's no small game!)

Cheers,

What im thinking of doing, is adding the opening all the door straight and the part in the field where all those (annoying) dogs are I will add some search lights MGS style and a rocket launcher and when you gothrough the door which you woul usually use to goto building to will now be straight into Metal Fears Lair. How does dat sound?

lol that made no sense:

What im thinking of doing, is opening all the doors straight away in the first location and the part in the field where all those (annoying) dogs are I will add some search lights MGS style and a rocket launcher. Now when you go through the door which you would usually use to goto building 2 will now be straight into Metal Fears Lair. How does dat sound?

yeah this looks very very promising (^_^)
have to keep my eye out over the comming weeks to see how this improves...
definately noticeing some strong contenders finally emerging - but as Rich said provided you can finish in time. But i think a week or so you should probably have the complete basic down
i mean once you have collision, item collection, item use, soldier NPC setup - creating the rest will be a matter of BSP with entities ... which is where you can just use your imagination for some fantasy mission (^_^)

good luck

Yup, looks good to me. Can't give you any programming suggestions though, as I'm only a 2D programmer so far... I think if the rest of the game looks like and plays like (at least how it looks like it would be played) the screenshots, then it should be a strong contender for the Retro competetion.

oki... just a quick question how many polygons you want this too roughly?
(please say 5,000 )
and just so you know right now i'm having trouble sketching the turn around for him and the 'Son of Liberty'

so i'm gonna work on the weaponry real quick then get onto the models again
So-Com and FA-MAS 80 are the main weapons, right?

@ Raven Yer 5000 polys is fine, So com and famus are the main weapons if I had time I would have of done c4 claymores and psg1 but the weapons are socom famus and stinger (got to fight metal fear with something!!!)

@Lord Belial: Yer I have played the gameboy version, kinda reminds me of the original games, got stuck for like a week on a part where you have use cardboard boxes on convayer belts but you have to get the exact right order and there are like 300 diffrent combos... spolied the whole game!!! but cool non the less
