There isn't really. I mean the main thing people are hung up on is that there is a bypass of the legal system.
If your caught trying to recruit or plot against the British people no matter your nationality you'll be kicked out. Do not pass go. Do not collect £200.
Tough policity and if it had been passed in the US then it would be unconstitutional (although I'm sure a handy amendment might appear
), and as such I could see a major fuss.
As far as England (and it's subsiduary countries
) go though while on the surface you see some democratic system, the government maintains the monarchy for a simple goal.
So there is no Democracy on how things work. Reality is the government in-charge has full powers to basically pass anything it chooses.
If they wanted to make it illegal for a given sect of people, say Indian-origin to be barred from entering the country. They could, and there isn't much any human rights groups can do given we don't have any such human rights constitution. The Human Rights act we have in this country is still maintained internally.
Just like much of our other laws. While on the grander scale the government often will allow the EU to control a number of factors of how things are run, again another reason were not part of the EU is because anything we don't agree one, we can say no to without any reprocussions. Cause technically they have no authority.
Definately a cushie goverment job.
