We have been, I implemented the shaders whilst in a coding mood, as Sett is coding the game engine, I thought I would do something useful with my mood for coding.

I ment to say approved posts.

And here is the To do list if it interests you X. Its for the engine, once they are done.

we can get onto the main part of the game properly, which gives me plenty of time to work on media and Oolite to animate, this thread will be quiet for a while, but we are working on it. (Just me and Oolite being in higher education means being too busy)

Actually its the check list sett sent me the other day, he wanted to see if there was anything for me to add to it, and I might add one thing, but it can be classed under spells and skill

That's what where doing Anyway. my PC is back and IÉ'm testing something to see if he crash, if he doesn't, I'll continue to code. If the comp crash, then I'll be very very angry because it'll go on repair for maybe a month, so that kind of bad. I hope that it'll work fine.

Thanks, fancying things up never really works for me, simple is always better.

Dunno about that, this is just the engine that needs to be finished, I know I started the project ages ago, but education has really got in the way, which is why I now owe thanks to Sett and Oolite, but I don't think things will speed up that much to catch up on the % rate of your's or Gogeta X's projects.

Good luck with ur PC, if it has to go into repairs, I'll look after the code for ye incase of any extreme issues...

It may be the motherboard, as I said, I'll send my comp to repair, but my dad is going to give me a little place on he's comp so I can still code! YAY! But it may be slow... and not very very efficient. I hope that it'll take a week, and not a month. I have a little change that my motherboard is not dad, so I'll try to play around to test my comp and see if it'll reboot again.

Yeah similar thing happened when the motherboard died on my old PC, I thought it was because I fitted the graphics card in wrong, however it died not long before I decided to install it

K guys, I've just wanted you to know that this thread is not dead. My comp had several problems, but now, he calm down and I hope it'll continue so I wont send it in repairs. there some update:

The rnd battle work fine, with a good number so you wont have a battle at every step you make.
added some tree and a fence.
you can climb hill normally, but you can go down, need to figure that out.
I've re positionned that differents objects and character.

I'll make the option button, shadows, FMV support soon. More screenies soon and a demo, too.

kewl, nice update, I've been working on characters still, the heads now look better than the one in our sigs, but with no textures I will not show them yet, also I have been working with buildings, I have built a basic low poly house, with avialibiliy for interior, and a stairs/support system to suspend the house on the mountain side.

As for animations, I have not heard from Oolite, but I will contact him and will teach myself to rig properly incase of anything Sett may need.

So engine media is really at the moment

Terrian stuff - complete, as seen in the newer screenshots
Temp akai (With the new face style he is now temp) - Modelled (See sig)
Test Dojo - Modelled, lightmapped in lightmap maker, however I am going for a completely differant approach so that room will be ditched now, as I will be purchasing 3D world Studio and Quikly Game Pro when i get me £80 (Quikly should have a tree generator I plan to use with Ronin)

So nothing really to update with, but just felt I needed to add to Sett's updates.

Music however is barely touched.

The next update from me should be a media update with a render of characters with a background, and a sig to replace the two crappy ones I made

Thanks, well the water shader is by EVOLVED, and same for the grass, the programming is just setts skill, and the modelling/texturing is an easy one

I think this project will be on a sort of stanby until easter, far too much work to do, 3 courseworks and a lot of studying to do, and 4 weeks after easter will be exams, after that I can relax and work on Ronin until the next school year for the A2's

[chorus] Update! [/chorus]
I know that there was no news on Ronin, but here are the news. My comp have been sent in repair, so I work on the comp of my dad. Lot slower than my comp, but I can work easely. So here is some update:
You can finnally go down the hills
You can set on-off the shader

I'll post a demo for everyone soon, but first I need to fix some bug and add something so I can post it. I need to fix the Way Point AI bug, I need to make a function to use objet. I need to add shadow and do a on-off option, and some other thing.

Now it sould'nt be too long before another update.

Excellant work dude, we've almost sorted out our character problem I just need to check out Oolites model, which I have been unable to do due to the amount of coursework, which is now complete (yey) I can check it out and fix up some stuff, also I would have done somestuff but I was watching the second DVD to season 3 of 24 because we had it on rental (So may as well watch it before we have to return it )

Ok, so here is the demo with some screenies.
Screenies first:

The option menu with my (bad) cursor (it's temporary):
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f198/SeppukuArts/Ronin15.jpg

Two AI working at the same time, way point AI and wander AI:
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f198/SeppukuArts/Ronin16.jpg

Random battle when you walk around:
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f198/SeppukuArts/Ronin17.jpg

And finnally, you can walk up and down the hills:
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f198/SeppukuArts/Ronin18.jpg

Now, here is the controls:

-> arrowkeys: walking around, choosing an option in a menu.
-> return key: select an action, in battle or in a menu.
-> shift: hold shift to run. Stamina decrease when shift is holded( a little bug).
-> i: for the in-game menu.
-> spacekey: talk with npc when you're close.

So, I hope you'll have fun with this tech demo!

nice stuff, I am downloading now, I'll give you feedback in my edit
[edit]
26-30 FPS
ATI radeon 9550 256mb
P4 1.5ghz
256mb ram

I like the engine so far, it is pretty nice, I would move the text box in the battle to somewhere that doesn't cover the battlers, and as a next move on your checklist, I would cover the used of items, I will write you an entire item list this weekend

Thx, yea, its a bug. The box and the life of the enemie is a little crazy when I've re-setted the display mode to 1024, 768.

Just to save the thread from dying into the dust I will post something as good faith.

Here are 3 character models that will be used

On the left is kuroi, he hade trousers more muscles and a hair do, but I screw his model up and will redo that, in the middle is Akai and on the right is Tsuki.
These models were made by;
Oolite (Bodys for Himika and Kuroi and all of the faces)
Oddmind (Akais body and armor, a kind donation)
Myself (Kuroi's cloths and hair, now lost, Tsuki's hair and clothes, and composing and editing the models)

As for the engine, I tried to get into contact with Sett by email, yet no reply, I have a feeling he is having computer problems again, sorry for the slow work, A levels are a pain, well hopefully I'll be able to get back onto focus with this project real soon

Yey! I removed the sig...
