I'm waiting for my GCSE results on 25th august....WHEN I'M ON HOLIDAY!!!! evil.
Well I know in GNVQ ICT I got at least Merit (because before the last unit my grade was standing on Merit) so being an intermediate GNVQ thats the equivalent of 4 gcse B's
and well other than that I'm predicted mainly B's and C's and in RE and Biology A, in RE if they allow it maybe A* (prolly won't because its worth 1/2 gcse)

I wouldda prefered to have been at home so I could go into school and get em myself, so I can rub all of the peoples noses who have thought they were better than everyone else in the dirt, oh well, I'll have to do that when they've got no money and no home and well it would be a meet up with my mates before sixth form, and when Alex goes and does his apprenticeship(so I won't see him)

Good luck getting your results and getting into uni, I tried to get into Long Road 6th form college, Cambridge, but the ba*****s rejected me, although I had more than enough to get in, its because they put cambridge school students first, on the first letter it says this 'Students in the Cambridge collegiate board area are our first priority' I checked it, and I was in the board area.
Letter of rejection said
'Unfortunately too many students of the 1st collegiate board area have applied to our 6th form' but isn't there only one? Or is that the kick in the balls they use

I'm awaiting my GCSE results as well, I did that ICT GNVQ as well - I got an A though :p. Very narrowly however, the work was so boring and tedious (screenshot, write a word, screenshot, explain screenshot, draw a picture, screenshot etc etc etc) that I spent most of my lessons programming - it was only in my last term did I pick up all of my marks!

I'm waiting for:

Maths
English
English Literature
Biology
Physics
Chemistry
History
Geography
Electronic Systems and Control
R.E
ICT - Teacher assesed as an A

If you get lower than a C on a scientific GCSE, shame on you.

Three steps to get a C in Biology:

1. Write name
2. Write "increase surface area"
3. Repeat step 2

The languages are the hard ones.

So, so true.

I've been told for ages by teachers etc. that I'm going to get 10 A*.

However it just can't be possible!

My english teacher handily forgot to teach us most of hte English GCSE so I was stuck revising unti lteh night before. God knows what those in my set who didn't realise there was a problem will get. I'll probably be lucky with two As for English.

The other one I'm worried about is French. I am really good at it and have been predicted an easy A* - however there was one question on the writing paper that really threw me. I'll be lucky to get 10/20 for that. I just hope, as long as everything else was comfortable A* that the one question won't drag me down.

Two weeks today guys. Be afraid. Very afraid.

I'm just waiting for my English SAT's results...

But my sister is getting pretty stressed out about here GCSE results. I'm pretty sure she's gone insane; I went into her room earlier today, to find here playing 'Spiderman cartoon maker' on her PC. Either its very addictive, or shes gone totally insane, lol

lol, we started GCSE unit 1 for Biology at the end of last term (going into yr10 this september ) We had a practise test, mostly about 'water potenial' (I think. Something along those lines. 'The ability of water to move from one place to another' etc.)

Every answer on the practise was some how related to surface area

Yes the early bits are. Diffusuion, Osmosis etc. We learnt about that in the 3rd year, but no questions specifically arose about it on the paper. All the stuff we learnt in that year was more to give us a basic understanding.

My biology teacher was extrovert to say the least. He was a fantastically nice chap, obviously knows way too much than is good for you and quite young. But each lesson he'd come in and do something completely unrelated to the last week.

And he'd give all these weird examples of things - however when it came to the GCSE everything he told us was there, all the weird examples and none of the stuff from revision guides he didn't teach.

Now THAT's experience

ICT and Computing? Intresting combo.

At our school GS is just a turn up for the day exam. What's it like? It hard? I'm thinking about doing it but to be honest since so few universities count it I'd rather spend all my energy on my 4 A levels. However then again it could just prove to be a bit of light relief!

The best teachers I ever had were my RE teacher who spends all of the lessons actually talking to us and making jokes - the strange thing is they're all relevant and turn up on the exam - a Chemistry teacher who was the first person to say that I was 'gifted' and a biology teacher whos similar to the Guy David T just discribed.
