What file formats should I use for my game?

Map files, characters, objects, etc.

A lot of the demos you can download use .x files but on the darkbasic pro feature pages it says BSP files are the best. whats your opinion?

Well, I don't have DBpro, I have DBC, so, on DBC I usually use .3ds and .X objects and characters. Although, what kind of game are you making? 3D, 2D? I've actually never used a BSP file, like I said, I usually use .3ds and .X. Also, I've never used a map file, so I guess I'm not the best to reply to this, sorry

I know what the supported file formats are. The question I am asking is which ones are the best to use.

FAQ is a little misguided . BSP support isn't great, .x is probably advisable. Of course with DBpro I convert the object to .dbo for a smaller file size ('load object' then 'save object').

.3ds does not work p[roperly in DBpro. You can, I believe, convert it to .x with the undocumented command '3DS2X ThreeDSfilename$,Xfilename$'

This 3DS2X-command is only for DBC I think. (In the DBP manual it says that it has been deleted)

It says it's been deleted, but the compiler recognizes it:
Undocumented Commands List

Not really sure if it works perfectly, but it's worth a try.
