I grabbed the single player demo from GS the other day and have to admit it's seriously impressive. Ok, so it's doing absolutely nothing new re: FPS genre, but it looks do damn sexy! Virtually everything can be shot and damaged, the soldier AI is bloody great most of the time and the singing little girl Japanese horror flick elements are freaky.

Pretty tough going though, haven't got all that far yet. More enjoyable than Battlefield 2 it has to be said!

After you brought this up again i decided it was finally time to download it and give it a go..

Played it only for about 5-10 minutes but you're right, it's very impressive.. Nothing new really, not even the slow motion part of it which has been done many many times now. Graphics are simply stunning though.

They definately seem to have gotten the feel down though, i was constantly stressing going beyond each and every corner waiting for either a little giggling girl to be waiting there(who knows why that is so scary), or someone to shoot at me.

I'm looking forward to continuing through the single player demo, and i'm certainly thinking it'll be a game i pick up soon

On my system: Athlon 2400(running at 2.01ghz), 1gig of ram, Ati Radeon 9800PRO video card(running in an AGP4x slot) the game runs perfectly fine... most of the settings are on medium/high.

I, like most others who play this game, encourage anyone who hasnt tried it to try it.

Its scary, that little girl, with headphones on lol, but for some reason as with every demo there is lag, and I have over all of the recomended system requrirements but thats why its only a demo I guess.

I still don't get where people are getting lag. I get a smooth 40 through the whole demo... and I'm even emulating 32bit mode. Maybe the 64bit catalysts are just that damn good

FEAR is a new game comming out(actually i think it's out now...cant remember), the demo was just released, I saw it in a banner two or three days ago, and I clicked it, but as soon as I finished it, the doorbell rang, and my brand new copy of Half Life 2 had arrived, and I've been waiting a year to play that game, so i just got excited and completly forgot about it until now. I'm so weak tho, there is no chance that I'll be able to play it right now (it's 11pm, dark, and i'm alone) and still be able to sleep. I wasnt able to get thru Doom 3, and even HL2 i was jumping in a few places, enough to get my mom to stop and ask me what's wrong (i had headphones, so she couldnt hear) but i like that sort of thing, at least 4 hours before i go to bed

anyway, i'll try it out in the morning and tell you people what I think.

never played this but i know battle field 2 was great but not the best

played it, but whats with these CD sized demos that only have one tiny, puny level in em, I can`t play against people v well, but I eat bots for breakfast, they didn`t seem very capable opponents (unless you count the fact they shoot like Deadeye Dick and wear 1meter of body armour).
