Analogy:

Quote: "Yahoo this week announced that its overall search engine index is much larger than Google’s and is the most in depth index of ‘web objects’ on the search market."

only for the subtle it seems

but if you must... on a serious note.. i personally prefer google..
why?

ITS CLEAN... CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN WHITE NO POPUPS OMGZ

call me boring but i cannot stand yahoo's multicoloured site.
I can't stand any search engines that don't place the cursor automatically in the search box.... or take more than 0.5 seconds to load...

and for its real purpose.. i still get better results for what i'm searching for on google than yahoo.. i still need to use google to sift through yahoo's search result page

as for MSN search .. forget it.. useless.. totally useless.. useless before its "big rise" (forced implementation into MSN 7).. and even more crappy now....

so unpopular with me.. i had to search for it to find it
least it got this one right though... even in the right order.
http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=search&FORM=QBRE

besides...
the article then goes on to say
Quote: "Greg Sterling of the Kelsey Group, however, makes the distinction of quality over quantity What I, Joseph User, care about is accuracy, quality and relevance. The available index does matter in terms of bringing me a sufficient quantity of results. (And if I’m looking for something really obscure, having that thing in the index is obviously important, which may go to size.).
"

and frankly i was thinking 'quality over quantity' before i read that

I personally hate Yahoo! first of all, their legal name has a freaking ! in it, you cant even have that as a URL, only gay people do that.

@Terabyte
that's an awesome Search
i think i'm going to make this my desktop picture, just because i'm a loser like that.

and I agree, obviously those extra 19billion sites yahoo is claiming, are just plain useless, because i find almost everything i need with just google, and if i cant find it, it's usually something that is way to specific and way to uncommon for anyone else to have it anyway

Used to be able to find exactly what I wanted until Microsoft "improved" thier Search Engine.

Now I'm unable to find jack all on any of them. So I just use the one I like the look of best, which is still MSN Search.

i use google and macs inbuilt search but i lean back towards webcrawler for media content as they have improved its search facility, plus its nice to get flashbacks when using webcrawler from the first days of being on the web in like 1995 - 96.

If no-one gives your an answer to a question you have asked, consider:- Is your question clear.- Did you ask nicely.- Are you showing any effort to solve the problem yourself 

ye know what baffles me the most

Search Engines that are "making loads of money"
yet nobody has heard of them.

example

Quote: "It was a remarkable debut. Chinese search engine Baidu.com's shares sold in the United States for US$27 ($39) - then surged on day one to close at US$122.54 ($177.46)."

really... now really... who hear has
A) used baidu.com
B) even heard of baidu.com

Are you really that surprised when Baidu.com is a CHINESE search engine? Just because something's not popular in America doesn't mean it's not popular elsewhere. China has the highest population in the world, at over 1.3 billion, it's almost 4.5 times the USA, and that doesn't include Chinese migrants living in other countries. Now really, can you really be surprised when you look at those facts?

First of all:
A) Yes i searched for the word "cheese", i like the cute doggy print, works well with all the chineese text
B) Have now
second of all, it's here, not hear, but "who here has", hear means you hear it with your ear; hear, ear; here, no ear
