This is a DB Classic Snippet.

This creates a matrix and then textures it with a single image which is chopped into tiles the same dimensions as the matrix.

Just add your own image and change the name on line 8.

[Edit] Forgot to mention - the bigger the image you use, the less 'blocky' the results.

Nice mentioning, TDK..
Because most people just decorate the command
"prepare matrix texture [matrixNumber],[imageNumber], 1,1"
and just forget that those last two statements correspond
to the segmentations of the image on the matrix..
Using a single image is much much more smooth..
