Does anyone know how to make a program that is in the windows environment, I would really love to know.

I am currently using db classic so that wont work.

You can have a window in DBC and I posted a snippet on the Newcomers board that will give you a Windows-style drop-down menu menu if that's any help.

Generally, DarkBASIC is used for making games.

It may be easier to use a more GDI-aware programming language for your non-game applications (such as Visual Basic, or PureBasic), although those do add OO (Object Orientation) which can confuse for a while.

(Note to the rest, that I said it may be 'easier'.)

Or you could try learning the Windows APi and accesing it directly from DBPro, I think you can do that anyway?

Unless you're going to create another (seperate) window, you can't draw with GDI functions (some of which (like DrawEdge) you need) on a Direct3D window. (Although you could draw over the title bar )
