That hard drive is a complete rip-off, you can do MUCH better for $100 than a 20GB.

I intend to buy a premium 360 because it will make a great living-room console with all it's media stuff.

But I'll also buy the Revolution because the Gamecube made me so happy.

I'll probably buy the PS3 for my son.

Some would say I spend too much money on videogame stuff, I say it saves me a fortune in the long run (that does'nt make any sense but for some reason they swallow it).

you realize they say that either because (a) it's not a typical hdd, it might be removable or something, so it prolly has a protective case:

Yah I have to say Im getting the PS3 because It has more power and I like the games that sony has for the playstation line, did I mention Im A die hard Sony fan? But I might get the 360 basic if I can scrape together the money for both, I am definetly not getting them when they release though Im going to wait for about 6 months for the price to go down.

i am going with the premium because i kinda want/need all that extra crap. I also like the multimedia capablities (plug your ipod and psp into a MICROSOFT product?, i know its weird but cool at the same time). Plus xbox live and halo totally kicks anything sony can throw out in the A** -(butt). Plus 4 of the tvs i have (total of 7 or 8(3 of 'em are big-screens)) are hd, so i want the hd cables for it to. The detachble hard drive is a thousand times better than a memoery card, and the wireless controller and headset are a must have for me. I might get the revolution to because a)its half the price of the other 2 and b)it will have that new funky controller that they're all hyped up about.

mmm. The wired controler uses usb. Does that mean I`ll be able to use it on my pc?
I wouldn`t buy the "core" offer in a milion years. 300€ for the console and another 35 for the memory card. For 65 more you get a hd(essential for backwards compatibility) and a wireless controler. Ms have clearly launch the 300€ version just to sya "Look we lauched the 360 at sub 300€. Aren`t we great?".

Edit: $300 for the ps3? Wow I want to get that. It will surely launch at 400. Poor Amazon. Or do they know something we don`t? Ah you can`t buy it yet. It`s just there so they can apear as a cheap place.

Yah Avtually for teh PS3 thanks to the american dollar its like 358.80$ canadian so thats almost 399 there , also I admit that the PS3 controllers look like bat-a-rangs but thats besides the point. Its still gonna kick as....Butt.

i like the boomarang designed controllers so if you get po'ed you can chuck it, and it flies back to you, so it doesnt shatter on the floor(i have gone throgh 3 controllers chucking them at things), personally i think its a great idea

Grog, what does that have do with anything? Did you hear the comments from the people at E3 who were over 18? They said it looked uncomfortable to hold, the current dual shock aint too small for any normal human beings hand (mutants well we'll have to see about that) and the new controller look abnormally uncomfortable to hold.

Something that only looks uncomfortable doesn't mean it is uncomfortable. Perhaps they did it just to hold antennas in the controller without being obvious. Of course i'm sure somebody will make a PS2 to USB replacement that works on the PS3.

Back when the Nintendo first came out that controller was foreign to everybody I knew... but we all eventually got used to it... the PS3 controller may be the same way.

The ps3 isnt more powerful they already compared and the 360 far out performs the ps3. Plus microsoft has all the best games developers now.

I like how you guys speak from your butt and dont use your heads. It's all about opionion. Most people i talk to HATE the gamecube, but I love it. When you're thinking about WHAT it can do rather than what it WILL be doing, you wont like a lot of stuff.

I hear all these people saying that games arnt about the bells and whistles, it's about the game play...this generation and next generation of consoles is ALL about bells and whistles. My guess is he is going to the US on holiday. $299 is currently £166.90. Thats £42 saving right there. The $399 is £222.80, a saving of more than £50 over the quoted £279. Good olde tech prices rip off in the UK. Still going strong. Although amazingly better than a few years ago. Would have guessed $299 would have been £280 at the time. ie. almost a 1 to 1 ratio, even though it's *really* almost 2 to 1. Good olde bad days

No. The handles are too short for my hands. Mabe because I went to the n64 and then back to the playstation pad (on the pc) that I`ve noticed. I was also alot bigger when I went back to the ps pad. I was 13 when I stopped and 16 when I started using it again. sony have thought of people like me growing up. That`s probably why they changed it. Not to mention they have to fit all the wireless tech in there aswell. They killed 2 birds with one stone.

About the spec of the Xbox 360 and the ps3. They`re not that diferent though the cell processor looks faster on paper. So technicaly the ps3 is faster but in order to take advantage of it they`ll need some 1337 programmers with mad ninja skillz. That`s probably the reason why they`re going to have it open source. Surely someone can get their head around it? We`re probably going tosee the first and second wave of games looking better on the 360 but the major games like Final Fantasy will look better on the ps3 towards the end of the generation.
Though that is pure speculation I`m pretty sure I`ve got it right.

X-Box is a huge paper weight.
X-Box 360 is a more fancy paper weight.

Wireless Device is over priced and the Controllers are too Expensive.

Nintendos Wavebird is only 34 Dollars. Not over 50.

At this present time, i'm in deep consideration about not buying a Playstation 3.

My reasoning is this in case anyone doesnt know this story.

SCEA announced it would be releasing an update for the firmware of the Playstation Portable on August 12th. Come that day, the update wasnt there and a statement was declared that there would be a delay and it would come out the week of the 15th.

Well, check the date today.. And it still hasnt come out. The exact same statement was posted by SCEA today stating that it is now coming out the week of the 22nd.

Sony has absolutely no customer relations.. Everyone is in the dark about why it's taking so long and why there have been two delays without and prior announcements of these days, but after the deadlines came and passed.

Now really, i never expected or cared for updates coming out for the PSP. This one adds a web browser feature and some other improvements. It's a bonus for me and truthfully, i wouldnt really care when it came out, but a promise was made by Sony with the dates, and i feel they're playing with their customers, possibly hyping up the update as a marketing plan to do something against Nintendo's new Nintendogs for the DS.

If this is how Sony wishes to treat their customers right now, i see no change for when the Playstation 3 gets released.

@Merix: It's a PR stunt against the people who have hacked the PSP and already added this functionality. They have to promise something, even if they don't know it's acheivable yet.

Personally, I've just bought a PS2. I get my games at 5 for £30 at Game, it will keep me going for years

I'm with batvink, I'm getting a ps2/xbox once the next gen systems come out.


The future is here, and I can't afford it.
