I'm looking forward to a new Freshman class that doesn't absolutely suck.

In my school district, the freshman classes get worse, and worse, yearly aparently, including when I was a freshman. But last years Freshman group was absolutely horrible. They acted like they practically owned the entire school, disrespected everybody (Fellow Students, Same, or Higher Class, and even the Majority of the Faculty), and caused fights on a daily basis over stupid things. One of the causes of the fights that I could think of was, "New York is Better than New Jersey". Guess they all forgot that they were in PA Territory, and that while they were here, they were our bitches.

Apparently, last years Juniors, who go to the Intermediate school to have a discussion with the next years Freshman, claim that the freshman class is going to be even worse than the last, which isn't too good in my opinion. I'm just glad that after this year, they're moving the freshman to a new building, so I won't have to deal with any more crap after this year (my Junior year).

Quote: "(high school sounds awesome you lucky bums)"

It generally is...when the Freshman don't ruin it for the rest of us

Other than that, I'm also hoping the Java course I'm taking this year isn't a complete waste of time, like the C++ Course I took last year (which taught nothing beyond how to display text in DOS, which several students in the class knew how to do, and then much, much more past that, OpenGL anyone? ^^).

I'm going to pretend you didn't say that.

Anyway, I think something like 2 weeks left till school, and I spend the mornings waking up in a cold sweat already.

Someone help me.

We should have a games lab opening within the next couple of weeks, filled with XBox's, PS2's, Gamecube's and $17,000 worth of games, not to mention the next-gen consoles upon release. Don't you love a Uni that takes gaming so seriously?

Swinburne, of course, from everyone elses perspective, there is the unfortunate disadvantage that it's located in Australia.

Looking forward to getting:

A) new phone line
B) 2Megs BroadBand
C) Laptop
D) Finishing Off My Project

This may sound silly but, you'll wish you will still be at school one day well, without the rules you would lol

Lifes more complicated, more responsibility and the hardest bit, growing up!

Why would anybody haev the ruin the latter third of a long summer holiday by doing all the back to school stuff?

It's like shops - as soon as you've broken up for a week they bring out all the uniforms

Well I don't know about your high school but mine is okay. Freshman year brings alot of changes to people who were once idiots. I loved it. Dude guy, you are lucky that you have soda machines. By my junior year (in one year), our governer is banning all sales of junk food in schools.

cute dog

I'm actually out of highschool and just started college this last year...it's a LOT better than highschool was.

I have a "lot" of credit hours, some say (15), but i personally think it's nothing...i mean, i wake up at 8am, school starts at 9am, i get out by noon, and i'm home the rest of the day...
what's hard about that? maybe it's because my classes are fairly easy?

I'd say I'm looking forward to a change. I've been homeschooled all my life, and I'm going to this charter school this year. Only 30 kids, most of them k-5 (oh, GREAT )... Although, one of my best friends is going there too, and were both BIG pranksters, so... But It'll be nice to be near computers that I can hack with, even if there Win98 with PII's and 32 MB RAM...

Don't laugh. Microsoft Word was used to hack the Pentagon in 1945 to steal several US nuclear bombs.

Personally, I disliked high school. I was one of those kids who was considered a "loner" in his own head but noone else knew it. I didn't do anything in high school, just woke up, attended classes, came home. Partially due to the fact that I switched high schools way too much(due to much moving) and was sick all the time(do to crappy doctors who don't know what they're doing), however I finally made it to college. My first college classes start in 2 days , I already have an interview for online editor/web developer of the school paper tomorrow. That would be an awesome job(considering most freshmen are stuck working in the cafeteria). Im only taking 12 credits because I forgot to register for a required 3-credit class(will make up next term), so I have it pretty easy my first semester. As for my favorite thing about it... being on my own! It is absolutely amazing how I can do whatever I want, when I want(and its a very safe campus/city). Already got my ugly florecent white dorm lights replaced with some cool black lights(adds the extra touch ), overall, school will be awesome this year! Much better than high school!

Oh yea, and erm...pizza, lots and LOTS of...pizza.

Is school just starting up for you guys? Man, I've been in it since August 10th, wait no, a week and a half before that because of band camp. I'm a sophomore, and I have absolutely nothing to look forward to. Well, I was going to go to homecoming, but the girl I asked gave me the "friends" BS.

I see nothing positive coming out of this year except for my English teacher who tells us she's on crack.

Aghhh!!! I started today....soo...what did we do

Got there met my friend, walked to the 6th form center, chilled with some friends, listened to the head of sixth form talk about what was gonna happen today, when into the 6th form PSHE room, sat down for half an hour listening to the assistant head of sixth form babble on about AS/A levels, what we can do as extra credit to increase the chance of getting into Uni and EMA, also a dress code of Formal but casual, nothing revealing yadayadayada, and responsibilities amd privelidges....

Chilled about, went to hall, chose me subjects, went back to sixth form centre, chilled for the day....and have to go back for wednesday ...

So not much of a lesson day
