Quote: " Interesting to see the humour being appreciated on the other side of the atlantic, Jeku. Some of it is very English."
Yes, I eat up English comedies
Some of them are so hilarious, and I'm fortunate that we get some of them on TV here. I will admit to Bit Torrenting the extras as it's not something I can get, though. Ali G is another great show I enjoy watching
Quote: "I've seen the American version, and it just isn't funny."
I admit that I was pissed off when I heard about the American version, and how Steven Carrell (the boss) hadn't even seen the British version when he agreed to do the show. That being said, on its own, I have to say I enjoyed it. The first episode was a complete and blatant ripoff of Episode 1 of The Office, but the other episodes I've seen were done in the same vein as the English version. Ricky Gervais and co. co-wrote the American episodes too, so that was probably what saved it from yet another American betrayal (American Fawlty Towers, anyone?).

Yah, I remember him from the Eastenders when I saw some pics of it from the net a while back. Many of the names they spout off in some of the English shows I don't recognize, so I immediately go onto the 'net to look them up
I'm incredibly envious of you lucky chaps with your public-funded BBC--- we have the CBC here in Canada, and I'm not exaggerating when I say that 99% of it is left-leaning politically-correct crap. The best thing we have on that channel is Hockey Night in Canada--- and that's saying a lot.
