Usually I would know this sorta stuff myself, but anyhoo's

On Tuesday I will be getting a laptop (Yay)

Only, I will not have a network card, only a modem card.

Is it possible to connect a plug in, through the modem card, and plug in a JR45 Cable, and connect it to the router?

I don't have a problem buying a network card, only I really don't see the point if I can just connect it this way..

Cheers!

No, I don't think you can. The modem expects a modulated analogue signal, and goes through an A/D convertor. Network connections are digital.

No.

Unless the laptop is a steam-driven affair, I can't see it not having an RJ45 socket. They've been pretty much standard on laptops for years!

ok that's cool, one question,

Does a network card, fit in any notebook(Laptop) or does it depend?

I have seen a router card that supposibly connected to my Belkin router, only will it fit?

Usually only a PC Card (PCMIA) will work.

it's PCMCIA

you'll need something like this:

but that's a gigabit, you probably dont need anything that fast :p i saw a 100mb card on newegg once like that, and it was only $15

How old is the laptop?

If it's less than two or three years old, I'm pretty convinced that it will have an RJ45 connector on it somewhere to connect directly to your router via a net cable.

you can get usb to ethernet
firewire to ethernet
printer or serial plug to ethernet.
pcimca card to ethernet

how many slots does your lappie have with regards to cards.

If no-one gives your an answer to a question you have asked, consider:- Is your question clear.- Did you ask nicely.- Are you showing any effort to solve the problem yourself 

What laptop model?

Your signature has been erased by a mod because it's larger than 600x120...

Eh? What are you referring to??

[Edit] Lol - just figured out what you meant. No, that bit at the bottom of my post was aimed not at you, but everyone (like a sig), but I stopped adding it when I discovered that it won't work over the net yet!

Can see how you mis-interpreted it...
