I take this a step further in more then one way. I have the source code to Quake 3, I run a computer security website, I'm to the point that I don't ask for new hardware, if I need it I go buy it. And the topper, the Secret Service have paid me a visit one morning when I just went to sleep to ask me a few questions. They didn't know where I lived so they ended up going to my Mom's work first. Scared those ladies half to death.

Department of Defense visited my website last year in January, they noted the kinds of people that frequent the site. Afterwards the DoD contacted the Secret Service to investigate and question me to see if I know any of the guys that wrote major viruses in the past 6 months.

No, I showed them the certain chats on IRC, and they had me tell them how IRC works, and how DCC works. Even gave them a tour of my website. They also got the IPs used from the Mimail.q author. That author decided to put my website name in his worm.

Yeah I got that in an e-mail from my friend, I knew it was a joke site, until he ACTUALLY GOT ME saying in an email 'You've now joined the army, welcome aboard, son!' I was like Aaaaarrghh! Then he told me after a week! Hahaha, good ol' mates.

Quote: "AMD chips are never sold in stores"

Ummm, where do you think I bought my last 3? (ok, so one was at a convention, but the other two were in a store)

Quote: "They may request "faster" video cards, and larger hard drives, or even more memory"

None of which have anything to do with hacking.

Quote: "Quake is an online virtual reality used by hackers. It is a popular meeting place and training ground, where they discuss hacking and train in the use of various firearms"

hahahaha, personal favorite quote

An obvious joke site, as every thing is spelled wrong and has non-existent websites.

Quote: "I would advise all parents to refuse this request. One of the reasons your son is interested in switching providers is to get away from AOL's child safety filter. This filter is vital to any parent who wants his son to enjoy the internet without the endangering him through exposure to "adult" content. "

Yes, because getting around this by ya know using FireFox and/or Internet Explorer obviously is a true sign he is hacking the system.
Don't let the whole AOL Dynamics IP thing fool you either, I mean that just means your easier to trace.

Quote: "Popular hacker software includes "Comet Cursor", "Bonzi Buddy" and "Flash"."

Yes, I'm surprised that Macromedia Corporation hasn't been shutdown already for illegal practises... must be the fact thier head office is in the off-shore remote island of San Francisco! Damn them, damn them to hell!

Quote: "Computer hackers are often limited by conventional computer hardware. They may request "faster" video cards, and larger hard drives, or even more memory."

This is very true, we all know that the most popular hacking program currently available dubbed 'Doom 3' happens to require substancial memory, space, and hardware requirements just to run.

Though to be fair id Software and ESRB have certificated it 18/AO which should make sure that only people legally old enough can hack using it. Makes me feel safe at night.

Quote: "If your son has requested a new "processor" from a company called "AMD", this is genuine cause for alarm. AMD is a third-world based company who make inferior, "knock-off" copies of American processor chips. They use child labor extensively in their third world sweatshops, and they deliberately disable the security features that American processor makers, such as Intel, use to prevent hacking."

Yes, this is true... the American Micro-Device Corporation is possibly one of the most popular 3rd world anti-American processors to date. It is again shocking to know that they also began and operate out of the same off-shore island as Macromedia. Why America keeps trading with San Francisco and thier illegal trade market is beyond me!

Quote: "AMD chips are never sold in stores, and you will most likely be told that you have to order them from internet sites."

It is shocking how these internet sites can get away with retailing these processors; not available in your local CompUSA or PC World store right next to the Intel Processors!

Quote: "Any father who has had a seventeen year old daughter attempt to sneak out on a date wearing make up and perfume is well aware of the effect that improper influences can have on inexperienced minds."

Such actions are aborant to the very core of the soul. Such girls who do this should be flogged in the local town square as is the custom. Beat the devil right out of her vixen little black heart!

Quote: "If your son spends more than thirty minutes each day on the computer, he may be using it to DOS other peoples sites. DOSing involves gaining access to the "command prompt" on other people's machines, and using it to tie up vital internet services. This can take up to eight hours."

Worrying to see a child trying to use the Disk Operating System, in order to gain untoward access to other peoples computers. Luckily the time it takes does make it very obvious.

In particular people should keep note of them trying to use the commands.

Format.exe, Scandisk.exe and DIR

As these are commonly used Hacker tools that are shockingly distributed with the computer itself!

Quote: "Quake is an online virtual reality used by hackers. It is a popular meeting place and training ground, where they discuss hacking and train in the use of various firearms. Many hackers develop anti-social tendencies due to the use of this virtual world, and it may cause erratic behaviour at home and at school.[quote]

Yes, a grave worry. Doom 3 is the latest variation of this program, and is by far one of the most profoundly influencial on your children. Any parents worried really should make a point to boycott all software of this nature.

[quote]Even when confronted, your son will probably find it difficult to talk about this problem to you. He will probably claim that there is no problem, and that you are imagining things. He may tell you that it is you who has the problem, and you should "back off" and "stop smothering him." Do not allow yourself to be deceived. You are the only chance your son has, even if he doesn't understand the situation he is in. Keep trying to get through to him, no matter how much he retreats into himself."

Yes this is strange how children always say this when your invading thier privacy. It becomes very bad during the teenage years!
We should all be very aware this might be the case, but keeping a firm hand and making sure nothing they ever do is private will help. When they're old enough to understand what you did they will thank you for it.

[heh, alright the Linux section and beyond just far to much to comment on. 'Lunix' HAHAA omg.. best damn read. ]

hahaha that's a great joke site, i wouldn't be surprised if there were some foolish parents actually believed it though (you can get some VERY easly "educated" parents on this sort of topic, especially the ones who don't have a clue about computers).

"Excessive time spent on the computer, communicating with his fellow hackers may cause temporary damage to the eyes and brain, from the electromagnetic radiation" that's a good one , the only electromagnetic radiation is the light coming from the screen (which he would get a lot more of outside, along with more harmful uv light) and some radio frequency radiation from the actual pc, this from the pc would cause insignificant damage to using a mobile phone.

now they could be bombarded by beta radiation from a crt (electrons) but this wouldn't effect their grades, just damage their eyes and maybe increase there chances of getting skin cancer (over sitting in a dark room their whole lives).

to be a good hacker you have to be smart, especially in scientific subjects like maths and chemistry, so if anything their grades would go up with the problem solving practice gained from hacking.

as i said, great joke site, good read if you're looking for some humour.
