Hey I need serious help, I'm on my brother's PC and I need serious, serious help with this:

I've reformatted my computer and put Windows 98 on it and going to install Windows XP Pro on it soon enough, and I had a first error saying something like 'NDIS Not detected, please restart' restarted it a couple of times, then ran it in safe mode, got rid of that problem.

Then when installing all the components for my PC and then rebooting it after, it said 'Windows Protection Error. Please Restart Your Computer' I did, ran it in safe mode, tried everything I could to fix the problem, Rebooted it...Stil says it...

I tried searching for help on this PC (my brothers PC) and all it does mainly is come up with junk websites and forum websites that contain no answers in particular.

Now, can anyone help me, please?

Thank you.

P.S. If not, does anyone know any websites that you can download Windows XP Boot-up disks? Because my brother lost it. MY boot up disk! , so then I can reformat my PC fully done with XP? Thanks again.

It's better to just reformat and install XP... especially since you wanted to do that anyway. XP doesn't have boot up disks. It boots off the CD. You just have to change BIOS to boot off the CD drive first.

XP does have boot/recovery disks, but if you reformatted, the cd is what you need.

You can download the disks ( all 6 of them ) from the MS website. Just search it

Wow, I just realized the new laptop computer I purchased a few months ago has no floppy drive. It always did feel a bit.... empty

I'd like to find a 3 1/2 disk that reads like a real 3 1/2 but it's really a flash drive that holds a lot more than 1.44 megs... i'm probably just dreaming.

Motherboard drivers, especially with AMD's should be installed from a CD supplied with the motherboard. This might fix that error, often they're caused by irregular drivers.

I know that the old AMD-K6's had real issues with Windows98.
