You mean have it for people to download?
or
Do you want it like Flash games to be played in browser?(Which it can't)

The term "Online Game" mostly known to be an online multiplayer game.
Which seems to be what you meant since you brung up the DBC enchancment pack.

DarkBasic only export exe (or scr). Wich means people will always have to download it before playing it. To play the game online, I would refer to TDK's very well explained tutorial on multiplayer programming. (net games).

Thats a flash game and its multiplayer.

You could make something like it but it wouldn't be played in the browser. An MMORPG isn't the best genre to make until your experienced. Search the forums, theres plenty of reasons why.

If you mean you want to write a game that lots of people can play in different parts of the world via the internet ('on-line'), then it is multiplayer that you want.

Multiplayer DB programs aren't just for people to play connected with serial or network cables - it also works over the internet.

However, you have to have a server program running on a machine connected to the internet for them to connect to. Guess what the tutorial was about?

I'm not sure that you know what you actually want then...

With regards to hosting, you would have to have a Windows hosting package to run your game server on - which are expensive (all the cheap ones are Linux based)!

for one. Runescape is 1/3 linux. Another part is javascript.
And two. If you want to get a cheap/free online multiplayer game that could make you money. Ask andrew (gower) if you could make a deal with him. You give him your game if (1. You get royalties on some of the money they make) and (2. You can be a moderator for the game.) That would be perfect. But you would have to make a mind blowing game!

i think adrew gower is the lead duder who makes RS. I might be wrong.

If your comp is strong enough (and you have a superfast internet) then you could try making your own computer a server until you game kicks off and you can afford one of those $15.99 a month servers.

Version--DB Classic
900 mhz AMD Athlon, 128 MB RAM,
16 MB NVidia Vanta gfx card, Windows ME System software
