If the camera were portrayed as a 3D object, would it be curved or would it resemble a plain?

This is a test. This is only a test. If this were an actual emergency you'd all be dead.

A point:

(X is the minimum viewing distance, X+Y is the maximum viewing distance, fov = camera field of view)

Thanks, Sven B. That's very helpful.

Note that 4 and 3 aren't measures. It means that the width stands to the height, as 4 stands to 3.

In real, this is the same as the screen width() and screen height().

Okay, I have another question. Does the minimum viewing distance curve around the camera so it is always distance X from the camera, or is the minimum viewing distance X only at the nearest point to the camera point? In other words, does the minimum viewing distance wrap around the camera point like a sphere, or is it like a plain that is a distance of X perpendicular to the camera?

[Edit]
Also, if we were to imagine all 2D operations were done on a shape a certain distance away from the camera (for example, the mouse), would the distance be X and what would the shape be?

Look at my picture.

the plain is perpendicular with the distance of X to the camera.
Same with the maximum viewing distance.

When a camera is pointing with a certain angle between 0 and 90°, then the shape on the ground should be something like this:

Ok, last question (hopefully). If we imagine that all 2D operations were drawn on a plain a certain distance away from the camera in 3D space, what would that distance be?

[Edit]
Nevermind, I got it. Thanks for your assistance Sven B.

SithSpawn,

I read your code in the codebase.
I can see you fully understand the camera structure now.

Nice job.
