Hi,

Does anyone happen to know anything about developing games for the PSP? Not sure non-corporate peeps can buy/afford the existing dev kits, just wondered if there are any other options.

Cheers

Sony are thinking of allowing a third-party company to do a development kit.

I heard the official kit comes with an emulator. Imagine if that gets leaked...

Sony have an open policy and thier SDK is free until you start motions to publish. Once that happens it costs quite big.

The details on how to sign up for it are on thier site.

that one might be better given your location heh
been having trouble personally getting accepted though, each time I submit a proposal they keep asking for more information on it. Though I'm not quite sure what information exactly they're after.

Kind of a pain given they don't want to tell me what's lacking only it's lacking something. Try again in a lil while, Nintedo reactived my account though.

Waiting for the NDA I have to sign to get full access again.
It's nice how it's free to sign up provided you have a company, but as soon as you start talking retail movements they'll probably expect some sort of licensing deal.

That is currently for 3rd party companies wanting to write software, unfortunately... Seems like they have a pretty tough selection process too

I've tried this before. At the time I acted like my business was on the list, but since it wasn't they directed me to the next step of being on the list. If I can find the darn email soon I will post their reply back to me. Once you make it through I think at the time they wanted over $10k for either the SDK or a license to be a approved developer.
