I've actually missed out on Battlefield 1942. Now I got it, and I'm really performing numbing mindless violence here.

It's (nearly) better than sex.

That first time you put a tank shell into a group of 10 soldiers and watch them "death paddle" their way through the air, you know you're playing something special.

By the way, does that have (on the PC version), cooperative multiplayer play ?

Yes! BF1942, Road to Rome expansion and BF Vietnam all have coops modes where you can fill the rest of the map with computer players. It's awesome for LAN, without a doubt. We always play it, especially if you have another PC as a dedicated server - then you can it playing the 64 bots for you (else you'll need a ninja PC to host that many bots and play the game on yourself (although its fine for smaller numbers of bots)).

But I recently got BF2 and it does not have any bots or anything like this. Highly disappointed, as I prefer to play with mates on a LAN than online, so it's a waste of cash for me. I would recommend a twist handle joystick for flying all the planes (helps with rudder control), as flying with the mouse is rubbish, and planes are a quality addition to the game.

Indeed - I have no real interest in playing on line, and the first decent multiplayer coop game I found has been Delta Force:Xtreme

Yeah, lets numb some mindless violence! Wait, what's that? That's not what he meant? He meant to glorify mind numbing violence? Wait just a minute...go into time out, young man! Not only for condoning mind numbing violence, but for a dirty mind!

No, let's not have a semantic discussion about mindless violence that is numbing, such as in numbing mindless violence. We've got to keep things in perspective hear. We could worry about the state of the environment, the situation for the world's poor, the history and the future of mankind. But that's dizzying, and boring.

It's a lot more fun to put a tank shell in a group of soldiers. It's zenlike.
