Just wondering if anyone gets this, and likes it?

Ive been watching the videos on the site for a while... its a shame that Kevin Rose left the channel (He has his own shows now though that he records himself (TheBroken,Systm,Diggnation), Also the channel is almost all about games now (from the videos I watch) I think they should have more about windows and game programming (maybe), They recently had an article on Game Maker...

Anyway, does anyone watch it?

(I wish we could get it through Freeview )

Yeah, I used to watch it before the "merger". It was actually how I found out about DB in the first place.

X-Play does the greatest video game reviews of all time. Catch it on G4.

Well they did something smart they brought back "Call For Help" with new episodes. And they're doing re-runs of Nerd Nation and Future Fighting Machines.

the uk did have a PC tv channel called .tv but sky shut it down for some odd reason. but we dont get g4 here. we have some italian channel called gamenetwork and give daily hints for "ledgend of mir".

some of the former tech tv staff run a web tv show called "systm" and give you hints and stuff. i've seen techtv before and im guessing they run most shows live? since they seem to forget some words some of the time.

Games master was so lame and geeky it just made me ashamed to call myself a gamer. Yes, it's all inside jokes an stuff, but even the geeks didn't find it funny or interesting. Save the kids shows for daytime, G4.

Yeah, well I'm going to remain skeptical that you've a) seen the C4 versino of the show and / or b) watched the original series.

I mean it might look lame now, but then so does Dungeon Master, Reboot, and half a dozen other things from the late-80s early-90s.
Honestly I don't see G4 as some 'major' improvement over them tbh, only they have more boring talking from people who don't know what the hell they're talking about.

"Oh yeah the action in this action adventure game is totally about the action."

: blinks :

WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?! I don't give a flying monkies what some "professional reviewer/gamer" has to say about a game, just show me the entire damn segment OF THAT GAME!

No, but like most american run crap-fests... 90% of the damn show takes place with you listening to the presenter waffling on about bollocks all they obviously have no clue about.

"Yeah the Playstation 3 is awesomely more powerful than the X-Box 360, with it's awesome 2 Trillion Flops of power! This is obviously much more awesome than the crappy 1 Trillion Flops the X-Box 360 can do! Don't let my I  Sony T-Shirt fool you, we're totally unbias and ask the important questions!

So Mr. Person from Sony who's in-charge of adding labels to the envelopes that are sent out to the developers to let them know they owe Sony money... Do you think 2 Trillion is a bigger number than 1 Trillion?

He said yes folks. Obvious proof the PS3 is going to be awesome. Now lets watch the real-time (pre-rendered playback) footage of Killzone 2 again!"

Yup, I feel that probably is 'just better watching'

Kevin Rose is working with the old crew of TechTV to rebuild the network from the ground up. It'll take some time, that's why he said be patient and support his current shows. They do have funding that is backing their cause, but I believe they are trying to get the viewer base back up again. Most likely it'll be another 2-3 years before the network starts and takes off again.

Haahaa!!! Game network was absolutely amazing. It seems all they did was play Legend of Mir.

And after 11pm it turns into a soft porn channel.

I loved Tech TV - it ruled. I only get G4TechTV (Canada) for Call For Help - I liked Cat Schwartz, but Andy and Amber are OK. Anyways, you're all right about it being more of a games station - I personally think Attack of the Show is too... weird. Screen Savers was the best show on the channel, but AOTS is just... weird. Anyway yeah, CFH rocks.

Nah, best one was that late night effort from a few years ago with the 3 birds. One was a bit of a scally if I remember rightly (long nose looking american bird), but one of them was tops. Some ex-softcore UK porn bint apparently. Was actually quite a good games show. Can't remember what it was called now... and it wasn't that one with the ginger bint in (Berlin was it?).

Cheers

I am 99% probably lying in bed right now... so don't blame me for crappy typing

I don't get ANY gaming news on TV, except the crap-fests from YTV (and other Canadians will know what I'm talking about).

Once in a while there's this awful games show with Tommy Talarico and some other dude that's only there to make Tommy look good (think Don Cherry's Ron McLean). Blech.

Bits. it was on C4, was pretty bad but amusing. I liked the Emily chick who then moved to Sci-Fi's Sci-Gamer or whatever the heck they're calling it now.

I think I saw that while I was in Vancouver - had a disturbing EA bias, I think

Yeah, many of those shows are merely corporately owned, I'd imagine. "This episode of The Edge has been brought to you by Nintendo." Meanwhile all of the Nintendo games get high or perfect ratings that episode :-P

I dont have cable anymore, but I'll watch the screensavers from the website occationally.
