Can you declare simple 3d objects like rectangular prisms or triangular prisms in Dark Basic code?

Raven: I know how to make objects such as cube, cone, sphere, triangle, cylinder. That was not what I was asking-obviously you are a newbie to the English language(typical American). Just becuase a cube is a rectangular prism doesn't mean a rectangular prism is a cube.

I've looked at make object box in the help files and I'm still not entirely sure how to use it.

Hi Witchbomber,

"make object box #, width, height, depth"

So just replace the values. You can indeed make a rectangular prism with this command. Try different values for each dimension to see the effect.

You can't make a triangular prism though although technically it's only 2 triangles and 3 planes so you could construct one from primitives if you really wanted. But personally I reckon it'd be far faster to make one in a 3D package as suggested already.

Cheers,

Rich

RPG: I did look at the help files, I was just not entirely sure how to use the command, that's why I asked on the forum. Again, another American not reading what I said.

Daz: You don't see anything because you have given all the triangle's vertices the same coordinates. Try something like

I think that should give you a right angled triangle with two 45 degree angles.

I'm trying to make a cylinder. In the make cylinder command, what does the parameter size refer to - radius, or height; and how do you alter the height and keep the radius the same?

Because you're over 700 units away from the object! If you were a little closer the chances of seeing it would be higher.

Cheers,

Rich

That shouldn't be the problem. I have triangles in the same program further away that I can see fine.

I know now. You can't see cylinders from the top. That will make the graphics on my game look stupid now.
