This should be simple to create, but I would like the world to know, that as my fist task in learning the FPI script, I will be making a gas chamber. Perfect for use as a death drap in multiplayer matches, my script will call forth dust puff decals to be displayed in a certain room when a trigger is pulled from another. I will also make that switch enable hurt zones, thus making a gas chamber that kills all who are willing to enter. I will publicly release this script free for all to use within one week or so. Please if you are able to help post here, or reply with comments on the positives and negatives of this idea.

Accually, im having more trouble then i recently thought. is there any scriptor there that can help me here, i just need a script that will run when the lever is pulled, and will activate the dust puff decal, and a hurt zone, then turn them off after so many seconds. thank you

how about a switch, that when you pull it, it opens a door to a secret room, then once you get in there, its a dust puff, and hurt zone.

i havent tried V1 yet, but in the BETA...hurt zones didnt work in MP

which parts of these need to be implemented in which script? Does each one have to be added into either the switch or dustpuff script? Sorry, where do they go?

yeah... you got it.

be sure to name the hurt zones and decals the same, and put that name in the ifused section of the switch.

Also, I am out of touch with scripting, I have the concept, but some smaller parts I may have forgotten.

nobodys listining....that script may work in single player, but in multi-player, triggerzones are static...i dont think you can do that with static triggerzones...

but what good is a script if you have to wait a year or so to use it?

i dont know why they didnt let you put it in...you can put decals in, and that slows it to 25fps...so why not have trigger zones or hurt zones with slowed down gameplay?

you know what...you might be able to "trick" fpsc into thinking that your triggerzone is a door or a lift, that way, it would still activate...or better yet, you could make a new door with a script that activates your steam decals, and ,maybe hurt the palyer to...but thats one hell of a door script...

yea, i was thinking about making something like that, but i think all activations are shut off for a reason, they simply wont run in multiplayer, im sure if there was a way, TGC's would have let us do it.

for a timed event...start the timer:

:state=1,timerstart:state=2

after the timer is started, you can tell fpsc what to do after a certain amount of tim in milli-seconds:

:state=2,timergreater=3000:state=3

after your time passes, state 3 will activate...put what you want to happen on state 3...

ok, i was messed up, i figured you'd put it on state 2's line after calling state 3 to begin, I hadn't any scripts to compare to. thank you, ill try this out tomorrow, its too late on a school night to do it now...thank you!

oh, the ifuse doesnt work, because decals use rundecal=-1 to turn off, not destroy

I dont want the person to simply be hurt when they walk though an area, the point was to have player A lure player B into the room and then kill him from some vunerable position by a switch or lever

Yer can't you use a scripit with the switch to make some scripit work like hurtplayer2 or something, or if they don't work can't you edit the door scripit. so afterdelayopenfpi+watevascripit I'm no good with the scripit let as you might have guessed. lol But hopefully that was of some use.
