Everyone post there game on this board.

Everyone will look at the games you posted.

Keep your source, just post an .Exe

Once let's say 25 people have posted a game, I make a new board

with all canidates so everyone can vote.

Then we set a date for voting to end.

Winner gains respect and fame for their good work.

Note : Please don't flame me for me idea.

Hi there

Will there be any prizes? I for one am hoping for a new copy of DBP or DarkGame. Anything - pleeeaassee???

P.S. what are the rules for creation (what type of game, any specific concepts like puzzle or 3D or something)?

And what about the whole damn 'Work In Progress' and 'Program Announcement' forums? You get all of this, only with more people actually trying your game...

(Btw, how do you know that the EXE is actually non-destructive? I.e., that it doesn't contain a subtle couple of 'delete file' lines or even is written in a completely different programming language?)

GEEZ DUDE DID YOU ACCIDENTALLY LEAVE YOUR CAPS LOCK ON?

There have been several attempts at a startup compo, but none of them ever came to fruition (except teh Jimmay's I think, and he had prizes). There is no incentive unless there are prizes or chance of large publicity. TGC competitions are good because they do the newsletter and it's a big todo.

@Sony: If you'd like to actually read my post, I think you'll find that I was talking about the risks of running EXEs off people you don't know - How do you know that it isn't actually a virus, until you've run it?

Y'know, "hey, look at my super 1337 mmorpg", that's actually a neat little backdoor trojan giving control of your computer to the game's 'author'.

I don't have that option on my computer. I don't plan on having it on my computer. I could care less about my computer because it sucks! I'll just format my PC agian and start fresh until I get another virus.

@Sony: Are you incapable of realising that most virus scanners only recognize well-known and already spread viruses? Sure, some have herustics engines, but a program that connects to the internet and downloads stuff could as well be a web browser in a scanner (and firewall)'s eyes.

Also, barely any virus scanning programs come with an option to have a 'Scan for viruses' button on the context menu; And that's even ignoring the fact that no current versions of Windows come with a virus scanner.

Seriously, you appear to be out of your depth in virus-scanning terminology at this point. YAW, YHL, HAND. Start a competition with some prizes sometime in the future, or stick with the TGC ones + the WIP board like the rest of us.
