Yep, kinda sucks to be honiest, I was in the car, and it just turned itself off.I tried to turn it on, but nothing.

At first I was thinking, hrmm..ok a simple restart through the laptop will make it work again.

Got home, plugged it in, and their was nothing, it wasn't even reading it!

I only had it 3 hours, Mental!

Nevermind, I'm taking it back tomorrow, won't be getting another one

Shame really.

Have you tried the hard reset?

On my mini it is something like

1) put hold on
2) take it off
3) hold select button
4) press menu

I've had 3 ipods die on me (1 dead screen 1 dead hdd 1 just wouldn't boot, all within 6 months of owning them) unfortunatley they don't appear to be the most reliable of sorts. Bought a Zen in the end and haven't had any probs with it so far.

I've got a creative zen touch, had it for a year now and had zero problems. Might wanna try having a quick look on google and seeing if anyone else has had the same problem.

I got 90+ hours once on my Sony at work (obviously a little lower volume - I was working).

Cheers

I have a sony mini-disc player, their awesome, and dirt cheap too. Battery life lasts forever......only needs 1 aa and that lasts, for many days of constant playing(i forget to turn it off a lot)

Yeah IPods are overrated. Who has 20 gig of music on their computer? I had an really, really, really small dent in mine and it got screwed up. Never getting anything from Apple again. Zen, Creative, or Dell much more reliable.

Yeah, I've got one banging about somewhere. Also have one in the car (love those coloured discs). Unfortuantly since I got a 10 disc MP3 CD-autochanger a couple of years ago my mini-disc has been gathering dust. Esp after getting the incredibly small sony mp3 player. Got to love those little cute discs though. Have you seen the last one they made? Think it can store 1gb per disc. Not bad. Esp with Sony's Artrac(sp?) format that should get between 35 and 45 albums at decent enough quality into 1gb.

Cheers

All sounds nice, however I finally came to a decision to get the following:

Creative Zen Micro 5GB Black

Thnx for the advice, it's good (well somewhat) to know that some of you also have had problems with the Ipod.

Maybe one day they will upgrade it, and get rid of these horrible bugs. It's still young.

Here is the latest scam by Apple.

Who thinks that the newest Ipod can snap in half easily?
They even planned a smaller Ipod .
