(Posting this here because ATI's support system crashes when I try to submit help... why they can't just use email for us registered long term customers, I don't know. But its f*cking stupid that people can't even submit a support ticket cause their SQL crashes constantly)

Smartgart, for some reason, has decided to not let me use AGP 4x/8x nor Fastwrite, and is not letting me change it.

I recently reinstalled windows, in which the last installation I had used AGP 4x and Fastwrite without a problem. This time around is just dosen't want me using it for some reason, and no matter what I tell it, it keeps insisting on not allowing me use it. I tried various CAT's and even the Omegas, and in all of them the smartgart has told me that I can't do something my computer CAN do.

Specs:
AMD 3200+ 64bit
1024mb Corsair (forgot speed)
Radeon 9600xt
Gigabyte K8NS pro Motherboard
various cooling

Any help would be appreciated.

Darkbasic MAD.. Are you incapable of posting anything useful?

Before the reinstallation of windows, did you use the same versionf of the catalyst suite that you used before windows was reinstalled? Perhaps it's a feature, or something in their new updates that isnt allowing you to do this anymore.

WindowsXP Home(Service pack 2), Athlon XP 2400+(2.01Ghz), 1GIG Ram, Ati Radeon 9800Pro 128MB.

If you have no clue as to what the question is in the first place, why did you post something that stupid? Don't bother to post if you don't even know whats being talked about.

@Everyone

Turns out, it was my chipsets GART Driver screwing with me. Just a little reinstall fixed her right up. After asking this on AnandTech it was apparent cause those guys are computer gods .

Thanks anyway
