There is a resize matrix option as well as a scroll matrix option, so you can move the wanted area into the top left corner and then resize it to remove the unwanted area.

Make a copy of the folder before you start just in case you mess things up!

I need some help too!

Where can I download it?

Matedit.com has been saying the same thing for nearly a month...

...maybe one day I'll finish a project

Version 1.6b is available in the Gallery, but this is an older version.

I'm currently searching through my archives to find a later version to make available for download. I'm even considering adding some new features!

MatEdit.com no longer exists as a web site as I thought no-one used it any more and it wasn't needed. I still own MatEdit.com, but support is being integrated into my new site at computechtenerife.com.

[Edit: Ok, this is redundant. I should've clicked the Refresh button before I made the post... ... Btw, I am also currently lacking a copy of MatEdit ^^]

MatEdit actually has a form of backup in the well-hidden (and archaic) DarkBASIC Showcase.

If you look at the bottom of the page I'm about to link to, you'll see a 'Download' link:
http://darkbasic.thegamecreators.com/?m=showcase_view&i=84

[Hint]A MatEdit 2.0 would be nice...[/hint]

My apolgies for that - I forgot to say that ComputechTenerife.com was new and I haven't finished it yet. MatEdit.com is just mapped to to that site so whichever you type into you browser you end up at the same place...

I'm using it mainly for uploading files for people to download at the moment. When I'm all sorted, I'll put the latest version of MatEdit on there and post a link.

Sorry for the confusion...

umm i have a suggestion for matedit.

if you set height of an area at 0, and the area next to it much higher, it connects, making one big slope instead of vertical 90 degree seperation.

TDK, can you make an option where you can select to smooth out the matrix or not? it would be effective for making urban levels of games without external objects

Version--DB Classic
900 mhz AMD Athlon, 128 MB RAM,
16 MB NVidia Vanta gfx card, Windows ME System software

Silent Knight:

Not quite sure what you mean with your suggestion. It's impossible to have a vertical slope on a matrix. There is already an option in MatEdit to make ramps - if that's what you mean?

Highlight a long thin strip of the matrix by using the cursor keys with the Shift key held down then press H to bring up the Highlighted Area Menu. Finally, select the Ramp feature and enter the parameters it needs.

Smoothing is something I've already added and would be in any new version I release.

Mat-edit, Worldeditor
make a import object function
with simple commands rotate, set object, position etc.
That would be great

Yes it would - but then it wouldn't be a matrix editor any more!

It's not something I want to do really. When I started it, I always said I wanted it to concentrate on being good at just one thing rather than fairly good at many.

If someone else wants to write a world editor which can use MatEdit matrices, I've always said I'd give as much help as I could.
