Ok guys I'm finishing up my work contract in a few more weeks, and I'm gettin back into the scene helping aura with his/her mmorpg engine, so what i'd like to see is a show of hands from everyone who is Australian here and if I can secure a venue at RMIT in the city of Melbourne here who could attend during the summer holidays?? I Know we've tried but no one wants to travel interstate, but if there is anywhere more central than let us hear it and lets try and get one done this year, I know if I turn up or host one that I will have a copy of AGE to showcase the work that would be done so far, mayhaps even a playable demo set up on a few machines to test it out. So who's up for a fun time for all fdilled with music, pizzas, showcased material and a time to get everyone together and discuss happenings in the db world??

I'm American and in America, but I visit some Australian relatives in Australia alot. I might be able to make it, depends on whether I'm there during the Australian summer holidays or not.

Ha! I aint going to Perth, Flibble!

Melbourne, on the other hand... That's only a train's ride away ( a very long one, but still only one ).

I may be able to make it, but I'd have to save up a fair bit ( 'tis hard when you're at Uni and can't get a job ).

And, the main problem with the last one that I tried to get going was that too many Aust users are underage ( and even now, a year later, I don't think that's changed much ).

'twould be fun to do, though! Esp. if you could show us around some of the local pubs

Alternatly, how about everyone come to Bathurst for the Bathurst 1000 in a month? Pubs there are great fun... But, a place to have the actual convention might be a problem... Oh well.

Melbourne IS a shiny place to be, you're right Flibble!

I really wouldn't mind going to Melbourne for a trip. Been there once before when I was younger I think, and it left a good impression.

There are the imposing threats of terrorism in Melbourne... although, that hasn't stopped me riding the train to Uni 3 days a week.

Oh, and of course I could make it if it were here.

There's terrorist threats in Melbourne?

Haha, I find that quite amusing.

Anyhoo... It still seems that there are more DB users in Melbourne than anywhere else ( at least, those that frequent these forums ), and so far, it'd just be the three of us going ( Unless Flibble gets off his lazy furry arse and fly's over [ it's only $512 or something for a return flight... I looked it up the other day ] ).

... Yep.

Just got off the phone with my relatives. I am going to be in Aus. during the Aus. summer holidays, but only in Melbourne for a short time. Anyway, it would be so cool to go to a convention! I just love going to Austalia (I've been there twice, which isn't really "a lot" as I said earlier, but then it's half-way around the world!), the people are so nice!

...You don't read the news, do you? LA has also been targeted.

Yes, because it shows how Sydney is no longer the most popular city in Australia. You smell!

And, Yeah, Sydney Sucks big time... I hate it, that's why I live on the central Coast ( during Uni breaks ) at in Bathurst ( during Uni ).

BB, Nah, sorry, can't afford it... How will some advice in return do? ( maybe about some funky dance moves or something? )
