Hi all
I want to build my own Pc and build and buy it piece by piece. Where can I buy parts for a Pc(new or good condition) and where can I find or buy a manual on how to put a PC together because I have almost no idea how..

cheers

I think therefore I am.

http://www.pcmech.com/byopc/ tells you how to build a computer. Newegg.com is the best place to buy computer parts in my opinion.

If you're from the US, definitely check out newegg.com. Even if you're not from the US, the reviews are very helpful. Another good place to buy stuff for your PC is from zipzoomfly.com

PCs are very easy to put together. All you need is:
Case (with lots of fans and a good power supply (at least 450 w))
Motherboard
CPU with a good fan (AMD Athlon for the most for your money)
Memory
Hard drive
CD/DVD drive
Video card
Monitor
Mouse
Keyboard
Speakers

And that should get you up and running. Of course, you need to make sure everything is compatible with everything else, but it's not hard. Everything pretty much pops into place when you have all the parts. I've never had a pre-built PC. All mine I've built myself.

I'd recommend Asus for your MB. I've had the least trouble with them. Good luck.

Oh and Tiger Direct isn't cheaper either really... It's about the same price, depends on what products though."

Yeah well speed isnt on my list of prioritys everything i want from newegg is cheaper at tigerdirect.

this users ip resides in canada, if any canadian users know of a cheap store more close to home like umart.com.au for australia then shout out.

btw it helps people to make teams and friendships if you enter in your whereabouts correctly instead of some witty statement.

If no-one gives your an answer to a question you have asked, consider:- Is your question clear.- Did you ask nicely.- Are you showing any effort to solve the problem yourself 

If you are going to make a sweet pc, might want to make sure you get AMD drivers and stuff, their very powerful.

Also having a nice bluish/greenish light somewhere would be cool...

Are you planning to add Windows/Mac/Linux?

"Are you planning to add Windows/Mac/Linux"

I think I want windows mac maybe. Linux no. I'm looking for a canadian site or at least something that will be able to ship the stuff to Canada.

I think therefore I am.
