After a huge sucesses with Black And White (It was..wasn't it?), they finally (after 2 years running) managed to create their unholy Black And White 2 (Congrats!), and I was woundering how many of us here (possibly) will be playing this game (if you can be arsed??)

Overall I liked to eat the people on the first series, yes, and I liked to throw people in the air, muhaha!

If only they would have microsoft staff in black and white 2, I would throw them around laughing *Haha who's crashing now then*

Anyway, This game looks like it's going to once again be a huge sucess, with over 5-1o million people world wide yet to play it (and yet no one seems to play online...er....)

I am hoping they have made better characters, not so annoying tutorial on 'How To...' that you have to follow..and well, something that makes the game more fun...

Does anyone still play black and white 1? Not many/0 do...and I was really thinking how long it will last.

Ok, this quote is from the GamesDomain preview of B&W2
Quote: "Say what you want about Peter Molyneux; there's no denying he's honest. Especially when asked what he thinks about his pseudo strategy title, Black & White, four years after its release. "It had really, really really terrible, awful tutorials," he admits. "The creature itself was broken, you couldn’t really build things and people really wanted to build things, there weren’t enough objectives in the game, the story couldn’t reflect what you'd like. The list goes on." As designer, programmer, co-founder of Lionhead Studios and even now OBE, Molyneux can afford this sort of candid admission, especially when there have been several years of retrospection. But that doesn’t stop it from being a surprising admission, smiling openly as he talks to us about his newest foray into the god/strategy genre, Black & White 2."

You'd never hear an american game developer saying something like that about their games!

B&W2, definately worth a look once it's released!

Don't look at me like that!
You're just jealous because the voices are talking to me!

Molyneux is definately one of those rare guys, I forget if Sid Mier is American or English; but I'm pretty sure he's American and I know he's just as candid over his games too.

It just takes a certain breed of the developers to be open about thier games. John Carmack in his Quakecon 2004 Keynote actually stated that yes, many mistakes were made in Doom 3 and it became too highly specialised. Hense why Quake 4 is what everyone is using as the next-generation engine which is far more robust being developed along with Raven Software.

Been watching some Black & White 2 stuff recently, certainly looks a treat.

Yeah the first one wasn't exactly fantastically stable or in-depth unfortunately. Many of the issues were fixxed in Creature Island, but what annoyed me was how you never got another God or much of a story in Creature Island. I mean it was just those silly trials on a single island.

Shame given the AI was quite noticeably better, it ran on more systems, was more stable, ran better online, etc. What kinda got me was that while you required the original game to install, it obviously was using a different engine entirely.. cause Creature Island was like v1.2 or something and the original still ran v1.1 which doesn't like Anti-Virus programs.

silly really but oh well

Hopefully the second will be a lot more stable - if not, I'm staying away.

Its a game where you can run your own film studio, and create movies. The movies can then be exported to WMV, and burnt to DVD! Its a fantastic looking game, set to arrive sometime in october (around the same time as BW2).

I've already pre-ordered it too!

Not the kind of game that has beautiful looking screenshots like BW/BW2, but I bet it looks fantastic in action
