DANG IT, i hate computers some time, i grabbed my mouse to press the POST button, and i hit the 4th mouse button (for those who dont know, it's defaulted to the forward button in windows) and BAM, byebye message...

anyway, i'm lazy so you guys luckly get the short version

People are turning banner ads into evil "internet commercials" voices and all... and there's no way to make them stop, (i guess you can disable flash...but i dont want to criple everything) i've only ran into them twice now, but if they grow, i'm going to have to give in and find some sort of plug-in that will only allow specified Flash videos...

What are these people thinking? 'If we annoy the CRAP out of them, maybe they'll stop and actually pay attention?' honestly! I payed more attention to the SILENT non moving banners than i do for those peices of crap. The first thing that came to MY mind wasnt "I'm going to click that nice nice person" it was more like "I hope whoever thought of this burns, now how do i make it STOP? oh, back button, bye bye to that web page forever"

what has this world come to?

There's a plugin for Firefox called Adblock. You can specify what images/flash/java stuff not to display, and even set wildcards (like http://ads.*)

Similarly Foxie for IE blocks out all flashs and banner ads. Very nice.

I got no pop-ups in firefox, all of mine are Internet Explorer, and I don't bloody use it, it slows my PC down when they load, they got on me bloody nerves, they get in the bloody way of what you're doing, I don't want your freaking Crazy Frog ringtone, I don't wanna player online poker, I don't wanna download Winfixer!!!!!! I just wanna surf the net, please leave me alone, whats worse they flood you all at once....

I know, someone should do a petition to make pop ads illegal and adware, and have someway to track them down, of course IP numbers can be scrambled, so that wouldn't be efficient...damn it, I HATE YOU MICROSOFT, why can't all my apps work on a mac

Microsoft does one thing amazingly well and thats care for it's programmers. Just been working with one of the Visual Studio 2005 betas and it is just so well made it still amazes me. Just such a jump from other editors I have tried.
But then again you seem to hate microsoft just because...I have had my computer running xp and has not caused me any grief in the last year and a bit...true im amazed, but it is still microsoft driven.
Macs....bugh...Humbug and Fie at them...a pox on all their families. It just feels so sterile...and its happy about it.

I will admit that Internet Explorer does indeed suck the proverbial hippo testicles.

I've noticed that everytime my XP Pro machine crashes, it's from a user error. and I have no idea what the crap you mean by 'shutdowns for no reason' in xp pro... i have never had that happen, besides, sounds more like a hardware problem than software...maybe it's just the user here...

hehe cmon baggers. your going to need to use them at one stage.
You dont want to be a single OS or Platform Coder.
They are a dime a dozen, however those who know how both
platforms work have an edge.

next time you buy a mac or JUST OSX 10.4.2 you get XCODE 2.0 bundled, its like MSDEV but
compiles all sorts of languages. and its part of the install purchase if you want to code with full expression.

im playing with the quartz 2d engine, freeaking amazing...
