I'm mainly aiming at the people who have a problem with me someway or another....

I come on these forums to chat, have a laugh, get help, or give advice to people.
Some of you certainly have a problem with my messages I put on these forums...and so I want to lay the cards down and find out what it is I am doing wrong...

First off, let me say sorry that my name is XpProUser, and I hate Microsoft and my website name someway or another seems to just burn your mind, because it somewhat has something to do with Metal Gear Solid...
Second off, sorry that sometimes I don't give out the correct information, because the topic someway or another is rather nerdly spoken and I get confused.

I don't come onto these forums to put up with this immature comments about me, I don't see why I should continue coming onto these forums if your just going to start picking at me.

I'm not asking for a fight here, i'm asking for where I stand here.

I would also like to point out, why is it, a newbi comes on here and example what these brilliant games they want to create, instead of trying to give them something to look up to (like a positive comment like 'Well good luck with it.') it's more like 'You'll never do it so sod off'
That's the kinda of comments that put people off from using these forums or darkbasic and the turn away.
You guys are really somewhat part of thegamecreators, you really need to help get newer people to get on these forums.
Many times you ask why girls don't come on, mainly because when the few do, they turn away with your sick minded stuff, no offence but it's just stupid.

I'm a chillout kinda guy, i'm not pissed with you guys, but I just don't get it....

I hope we can sort this out in a orderly manner, mature way.

If you don't have anything which isn't going to get us anywhere, don't bother wasting your effort writing.

Firstly, don't worry about your name. Whoever says your an idiot for using it is just being... Merranvo (kidding ).

Also, anyone who says that you're stupid for giving the wrong information is also being stupid. Everyone makes mistakes, they should just deal with it - if they ask for help, at least you're trying to help.

I think that, although there are numerous people who will say 'you'll never make a game lke that...' etc, there are also plenty of people who encourage people's work. I think this point in particular is one that depends on the work a person has done in the past - if you post a thread in WIP saying 'Yo dudes im makinz an mmorpg dis is wat ive done...' and links to a photo of a blank green area, then they will be permanently marked as a person who isn't good at anything - something not good and probably needs to be better.

As for your remark on girls being driven away by 'sick minded' comments, I do not agree on this. Yes, there are some cases where there will be some sick minded stuff on the forums. That's why we have moderators. Also, it is a simple fact that a majority of coders are male. That's a fact clearly backed up by the 'Girls?' thread on this very board.

While I agree with you on some levels, I think that the TGC Forum community isn't treating you as bad as it may seem. Yes, there are people who will get all 'N00b bAsH3r!' on you, but then there are some who are genuinly trying to help. It's similar in real life - think of it as a 'Virtual Life Simulator' .

I personally haven't seen much bad stuff said about you, exept when necessary (which to my recollection has only really happened once, of which I don't remember).

In the end it comes down to one fact. Every user will experience a few months when they first join up where they will find themselves constantly told that they cannot acheive anything here. The people who say this are simply ignorant. I personally reckon that the TGC forum (or any forum , for that matter) will have these problems. It all depends on your first few months. I remember my 6th or 7th day on the forum - I posted a thread reminisent to a 'GiMm3 TeH Cod3z!' threads, and I was pretty rammed in by users who had been there longer. But I guess I deserved it when I said 'HELP ME MAKE A SPACE INVADERS GAME!'. But enough of me.

Point is, people should start being nicer as time goes by. Mind you, a single political, religious or flamebait thread could cost you. Anyway, I hope things clear up for you and you stay a forum user and proud owner of whatever TGC products you own.

EDIT: By the way, if you hate your name that much change it in the profile menu .

I started this post all fired up...memories of past rage fresh in memory...but as I check through the threads it appears I have been too harsh to you. Unfortunatly you posted some idiocies on a thread which was already pissing me off....you appear to have this amazing nack to always be around 'Darkbasic MAD' or one other induvidual who is being a retard currently. I admit ive given you too much stick so I have gone about trimming one such case...if any other still annoy you just mail me a link and I'll edit them.

Dont worry about your name...anyone who seriously has problems you just because of that has bigger problems of their own.

Immature Comments: Yeah this is one of the things that has had me more riled than usual...All this nerd and geek bovine-turd is just pathetic.
If I have had a go at you its because I belive somthing strongly against either you or what you have said...nothing to do with your cultural class, gender etc etc...

This leads neatly on to the matter of girls. Now I find the fact that you seem to think that girls would react worse to our manner than guys pretty sexist, but if people have been using sexist insults then your totaly correct...personally I havnt seen it happen.
It's just one of them things...not as many girls seem to be into coding. The uni course i'm taking next year at Derby has been working hard to attrack females into the world of game programming...it just seems to be one of those things.... on the flip side im not sure that too many girls are worried about the startling lack of males in the home-made knit-wear business (Im assuming here !).

As for bashing newbies...yeah it happens...some I agree with some I dont. I have an issue with stuborn people who refuse not to work for goals or set themselves reasonable targets...at this point I generaly make one polite post suggesting how they should approach this learning curve...if the same stupid questions come up again and again I start stating more clearly my opinions.

Personally I like to think I give as good as i get. When I first got here I appretiated what this was...a vibrant and diverse community who I wasnt well known in...I spent a good deal of time working on decent threads and showing work...heck i didnt join for the first year and a half as I didnt feel my work was worth showing and I wanted to enter with something to show.

It's people I see day after day..asking the same questions getting the same answers and then not taking any advice or even appearing to try find anything for themselves. If people come in with an attitude I react with one...many people have worked a long time to see this forum be the living wealth of knowledge it is today and i'll be damned if some kid will come in a start throwing his weight around without contest.

I am more than willing to help newbie who help themselves...people who know where to start and have tried to fix things themselves

This kid slooper is a star newbie..really is...comes in making a couple of mistake..not asking a concise question..and double posting, but he doesnt contend when he is informed of this and he actualy takes it in. Thus I helped him out whenever he had a problem.


To wrap up, sorry...im gonna try and chill with you as obviously I seem to have made a mistake...the fact you actualy care about peoples opinions really impresses me.
Definately will not stop me bitching at some people though.
