Lol, I'm one of those people who'll buy a game before they've finished the last one they bought. I don't even want to think about how much money I've spent on things I've only played for a week.

my missus and me split up, she was totally incompatible with my pc kit and her just being around caused things to crash, if you put a digital watch on her, it would stop, seriously.

Hey that's quite impressive.

If you disregard the C64 and Amiga

Which keyboard do you actually use to code with? The black USB one looks like the one I've got for my PS2.

Hey I took your advice and bought an X-Arcade too! Except I only got a Solo one, but I love it. Read about it in the next newsletter

Nooooooo!

I just tried to score brownie points with the missus, at your expense. I was trying to show just how little I had stacked up on my desk.

Can you guess what she said when she saw it? Can you? No, you can't possibly guess.

She said "We used to have that carpet in the spare bedroom!".

Aaaaaaaaaaaah!

@Geecee3 - How do you have that much and still find time to code. Any chance of telling us how you manage to afford it all, I'd guess at eBay for the retro but a ds, psp and comp plus all the games to run on them???

Impressive haul there GeeCee.

I'm coveating that joystick! - my brother just found his Mame DVD's so I plan to get onto the old faves, like Salamander (I see your a fan too) - I loved Black Tiger so I plan to play through that first, just as soon as I wire up an old joystick . Haven't you been tempted to make a custom Mame box with one of those old PC's and your arcade sticks?.

@SSS its a lovely VIC 20 with 3.5k of ram it should have a a 16K expansion hanging out the back.

@Van B i'm in the process of designing a cabinet that a neighbor is going to rout for me, maplin electronics do most of the other bit's i need to put it together and Xarcade supply the controls and interface. it should cost about £150 for the cabinet with controls, then i just need to add some old pc hardware and i'm set. I used to have a small cabinet but it was pretty crap, i'm hoping this one will be far better, but i'm still trying to source a decent plastic covering for the wood.

I've got a PS2 next to an X-Box next to a GameCube next to a PS2. Ok, slight lie, the 2nd PS2 now moved downstairs.

Must. Stop. Buying. Gadgets. Damn, next wave coming in. Must resist.... focus on many games still in plastic wraping....

Cheers

Ps. Oooohhh, those Ipod Nanos look quite kinky. Not as small as mine, but niiiice screen....

BTW, I have managed to avoid buying a DS *or* a PSP (so far). I know I know. Hell, I even have a GBA, and a GBA-SP (cos I liked the look). It's really weird. Bit like a legal IT high. Strange feeling..... Plus I've luckily got addicted to that free ping pong game on miniclip.com, and I've managed to get Carmageddon 2 working in XP (tis tops with proper drivers and 3DFX wrappers). And am addicted to that now. Good olde ancient games... still have about 15 console games I haven't unwrapped yet (Is Halo 2 as good as the original? Haven't opened it yet). Sigh....

Cheers

XBOX 360
4th generation xbox
PS3(maybe, if it looks cool)
My 64" Gaming TV
Personal Theater(might build one in my dorm room anyway).

How does it "rip people off"? If they spend money for it and want to play it, then it's not ripping off at all. If you are talking about extra stuff such as xbox-live, people know they have to pay for it before they buy it, so once again its not a "rip-off". From personal experiences its also alot more stable than the PS2(although I never used a PS2 a whole lot).

it's not a scam if it does what it says on the box. Really, the blind MS hatred thing is getting annoying. MS has quite a few products that are better than any equivalent out there. And you could say the PS2 was another attempt from Sony to "rip people off". All any company wants is to gain money, why does that make MS dispisable and Sony not?

Although im agreeing with you on this one, i must answer this part...

Quote: "why does that make MS dispisable and Sony not?"

Because microsoft is owned by the richest man in the world(as known) who takes and takes and takes and gives some insufficient products in return(the xbox not being one of them). Or mainly...he's just a nerd.

Sweet jesus lad, why won't you just stop complaining.

If you are the only company supplying something (xp for example) it's just plain commen sense to charge a high price because you know people will have to buy it as it's the only product of its type available.

2) Now what's he supposed to do?

That OS is not required on a PC. Get linux if you have a problem buying an OS.
And so what if they charge more money for a games console? You think they're supposed to throw it in free with the OS?
