Im working on it! Luckily this gun will be available in my game soon enough. I am "roughing it in", working from general to specific. Go to keep it low poly though! I think I'll make all of springfield armories pistols and rifles before it is over!
Thanks
Jarrett

Yep, Cinema 9.1. Alex, I thought this would be for our game, its a stealthy little pistol I think. Do you think the mods would make an animation forum? Oh, and I got a couple of fragmotion questions. I imported the base figure(.x format) into fragmotion. I can scrub back and forth to look at all 2498 animation frames. I am unsure where to put my new animations(for the knife) so I made a new->animation. What I am tryign to do is copy the key frames of one pose in the 2498 frame animation, then go to my new animation and paste those keyframes onto the new animation, kind of like stealing poses from one and using as poses on the new one, only I cant get it working. Take a look and see if you can copy and paste a pose from one animation to a new one, then move the timeline down and do it again. I can do it once, but it doesn't want to keep the first pose on frame 1 when i try to paste the second pose onto frame 6.
Thanks,
j

New shot with wire overlay. It is tough to low-poly model, for me. I am from a high-poly background, so I am learning to model economically. Bear with me guys, I will get it looking good, and with alex's help we will get it in game as a freebie to preview our modern weapon pack.

@Jtbullet:

15 years of creating models (10 years professionally) you can tend to "view" how people create models. The sad part of that is I cannot watch movies such as "Toy Story" without thinking of UVW Unwrap modifiers... it is quite a shame.

But really, for starting out, you’re on the correct path. Don't worry too much about polygon count until you learn the modifiers.

Cellbloc Studios, Can you make character models and animate them?

When FPSC gets good enough, lets make a Redwall game!

everybody that model can do that. everybody that have FragMotion can animate his model by importing the FPSC's character animations.

Thanks guys. Modifiers Cellbloc? You must be a max user. It's deformers in cinema i think. Fpsc should work out a bundle with milkshape and fragmotion.

@JTBullet:

Yeap. Max user. Once you get the handle of deformers, breaking it down to a lower polygon count is pretty easy. Books will tell you to think about lower polygon count first, but trust me, you will have to make a high res render of your model and if you start with a low polygon count, it is a pain to get it to where you need it.

Best of luck with the modeling! Modeling is fun and rewarding (and as you can see, always in demand)
