How do you create a "Sky Sphere" to map textures from the SkyBoxes that TGC sells?

I don't know about mapping with SkyBoxes that TGC sells, but I know how to make your own.

And, you can use the picture of sky that I included (attached to this post)

It's better to use a box rather than a sphere as it can look horrible.

That's true. If you can directly the see the top of the sphere or the bottom, it looks rigged and horrible. Although, some of that disappears when you use the fade command.

I've never used boxes before because I can never get them to look just right, they always look like paintings and never 3D backgrounds/skies. But I'll read the tutorial anyhow.

I've used boxes, and you download some free ones from the net (sorry no links to provide but use asearch engine and look for 'free textures').
You need a 3d program such as 3d canvas.
You then:
Create a box,
Invert the box so you texture the inside
Paint each side using the free sky textures
and then save it.
Couldn't be simpler!
If you want I can send you some freebies that I have downloaded myself
