mmm, save up and get dual 7800gtx cards with a PCI-E mobo...yummeh
My friend has a geforce 6600something-or-other, and it's really nice, loads better than my 9800pro it seems, and he didnt spend much on that, just $100 or so, and if you get the 6800 i read that you can open the extra pixelpipelines with a bit of tweaking, and it seems like you're kinda into that kind of stuff Eric
, but I dont know what that would do to the warrenty, i'm assuming you would lose it, but it would result in a faster card. But on the same coin, those other pipelines could be crapped up and you unlock them and they dont work and then it's all poop from there
I also noticed in the past that you're a linux fan, and I read that ATI has crap drivers for linux. So if that's the case, I would suggest getting an nvidia.
If I understand right, only the higher end ATI cards support PS3 and the 6600(? maybe it's the 68?) and up support PS3, then you wouldn't have to worry about getting a new card to support that when someone finally releases a game using it
I have probably written WAY too much, so i'm done now...
