hi,how do i save my code with my project.

everytime i save & reload my project my code is gone.

I doubt it - your question is too vague. We don't know what you mean.

You haven't read the stickies either or you would have stated whether you were using DBC or DBP.

In Classic standard editor:
- File, then Save (saves as a .dba file)

In Classic Darkedit:
- File, then Save (saves as a .dba file)

In Pro:
- File, then Save All (it first saves the project data as a .dbpro file then it saves the actual code with a .dba file).

In Pro just using "save project" only saves the project data... not the code itself.

But surely when you exit DBP, a box pops up telling you that your source code isn't saved - 'do you want to save it now'??

For him to lose it each time, he would have to specifically say no!

That's why I thought it was too silly to assume that's what he meant!

It's real confusing using the IDE that came with Pro for that very reason. When you use "save all" it starts with the project data then the code. When you try to exit before saving if you say yes to save it starts with the code then saves the project data.

Even looking at the File menu is confusing too:

New Project
Open Project
Open Source
Reopen
Save Project
Save Project as
Save Source
Save Source as
Save All
Close
Close All
Print
Exit

When I first saw the above list my first words were "Aw, hell... which one do I use?" It was only through experimentation that taught me to use "Save All" only.

The programmer of that IDE should of just assumed that when a person wants to save... they want to save both the project data and the code at the same time. To me it's easier to use 3rd party IDEs like BlueIDE... which has one "save" and it acts like "save all" in the standard Pro IDE.

you have to open or start a new project..name it
or save project as ..???????
and save source code in the same folder save source code as...?????

just open the DBP project file with notepad and change
the main source file manually

The worst foe lies within the self..
