I was interested... With the hype you created it was starting to sound good. So after downloading it, something like this just absolutely took the proverbial cookie.

I mean, come on... the background image doesnt scroll, hell, it doesnt even line up properly. The car sprite does turn, but hardly like a car, there's no collision, not even buggy collision.

Not only that, but the file is 36Mb! For 2 images and a sprite! I know that DBP exe's are big... but what kind of code are you pulling in the background to get a filesize like that, even with the background image, it still wouldnt be THAT big!

For god's sake kid that kind of thing needs to STAY in your work in progress folder. You might be ready for a proper demo release after your code is about one hundred times that long and you've learned some basic principles of programming. Then maybe people could even seriously think to begin on where to give some constructive critisism.

it's a truly lame effort you have put in after gearing us up for a real GTA clone we could play online, i'm most dissapointed. you have all the coding skills of an itchy verruca dipped in vinegar and smoothed down with a belt sander.

now i know what they meen by n00b, not new, just lame.

dbmad. the reason you get this response is all the times in the IRC channel you've accused others of being a noob, and then come up with something that, even if it's reasonable for a noob, anyone better could code in 5 mins.

next time, think before you speak and flame others.

If you've only actually used 3 images, then why include the other 50 - it bloats the .exe

This is a forum for serious work in progress projects. If your first game happens to be one, then you can put it here. In this case it wouldn't entertain a toddler for five seconds, and if you're aware it's so pointless, why the hell bother making a post about it?

Alright people enough, everyone has to start somewhere, including this guy.

I'm going to lock this thread now.

People don't quit playing because they grow old.
