What is error 10? According to the help it means that something else other than compiling occured. My guess was that it is missing a file. I put the exe into the SAME file that the DBA file is in and the DBA file works. Why not the EXE? Thanks if anyone can clear this up!

the error description under the errors notepad says "file does not exist"
For a list of all errors, goto, in your drive,
C/program Files/dark basic software/dark basic/lang/english/words.txt

then scroll down and look under the [Errors] heading.

Version--DB Classic

You are just making an exe - instead of using the Build Final option.

Build Final merges the media into the exe whereas Make Exe just creates an exe - you are supposed to supply the media as separate files.

There is a list of the media files that Build Final will merge (like BMP and .X etc.) in the help files. Some media filetypes are not on this list and have to be supplied with the exe.

I put the EXE in the SAME file the dba file was in. The DBA file worked fine, the EXE file didn't.

Ah... you mean the same FOLDER???

OK - thought you meant what you said - not what you didn't say. Lol!

In that case, does your program load any media from inside a folder by any chance?

Although it is supposed to work, I had all sorts of problems with Build Final when media files were in a folder.

Try moving ALL of your media (images and objects etc) into the same folder as the dba file and then try Build Final again. You should be able to then move the exe to a folder on it's own anywhere on your hard disk and it should run OK.
