Is anyone else having a problem with Mailback?

I haven't got anything from this forum for nearly a week, despite numerous replies to the threads where I've enabled it.

There's nowt wrong with Thunderbird nor my email account. I'm getting other emails just fine and I've just received the TGC newsletter.

Sooo... any ideas?

If so, get a life.

I might be wrong, but I believe the mailback facility only works for threads that you started. So adding your thoughts to someone elses thread and enabling mailback does nothing.

I love spam! (gets out oil, eggs bread cheese and a frying pan)

MORE SPAM!!!

but more seriously, check to ensure the mailback is not being filtered by your spam filter if applicable.

you dont beat the system. the system beats you.

I'm not receiving any either - and haven't done for a while now.

You can turn it on for any thread you post in - just need to tick the box before you click on submit.

It seems that after a while it just wears off. Either that or Rich has broken it.

I would get mails from threads I didn't start. Maybe it doesn't send them for exceptionally active threads. Wait, no. Because I'd get 90,000 emails a day from the Dumbo & Cool thread

Found the prob... somehow my address disppeared from the mailback box in my forum profile. And I sure as hell don't remember clearing that box, even when I changed my sig recently. I remember that like it was 2 minutes ago.

Oh, and Joel... Why the hell did you think my question was spam? (I heard that the UPPERCASE version is copyrighted, BTW ). More importantly, why accuse me of spamming when you've been doing it yourself?

I think Joel was actually hinting that mailback might have been blocked by your spam filter, but seeing as his post wasn't written out differently I have no way of proving this.

Or he was just being an idiot and typing out of his... ahem.

I haven't set my spam filter to block anything, so Norton and Thunderbird just label it with a [SPAM] prefix on the subject field.

All this thread needs is for Jimmy to post about morons not understanding single word posts and it'll be on it's way to lock-ville .

You have to post to activate Mailback, right? Perhaps Joel was testing it on this thread himself, and didn't know what to say?
