If any of you have downloaded the version of MatEdit from the Showcase on the TGC web site, then it will be V1.6b.

This is an old buggy version and was never updated when new versions were released. The last one available to download off the MatEdit web site was V1.6f.

I've now done some more work on the replacement web site and although nowhere near finished, I have got some of the old MatEdit.com pages on there so you can read all about MatEdit, download V1.6f and access the tutorials.

There are still a lot of broken links on there yet though as I still have a lot of work to do...

You will need to download MatEdit V1.6e and install it, then download the V1.6f exe file and overwrite V1.6e with the updated exe. (All files are in the Downloads area).

Quote: "No, you haven't come to the wrong site if you aimed your browser at www.MatEdit.com - this is it's new home.

Dark Basic programs written by me (Barrie Capel) were written using the name TDK_Man though I have written many other non-Dark Basic programs under the Computech name, as I have a computer hardware and software company called Computech Tenerife.

Since I wrote MatEdit, things have moved on and with the release of DB Pro, the need for it has diminished. As such, development of the program has ceased and the old site closed down. However, this site will contain support pages for it along with all my other software.

I'm setting up this web site to promote the Computech Tenerife business, both the hardware and software sides, so all of my downloads will be available here eventually - including pages devoted to my Dark Basic endeavours.

Please check back here again over the coming days to see what's been added..."

Thats all I get. When will the download be availiable or am I missing something?

[Edit] Nevermind found it at http://www.computechtenerife.com/db.htm

Both http://www.matedit.com and http://www.computechtenerife.com point to the same web site and both do work OK.

Robot:

That was the initial page which I replaced last night, so it probably took a few hours for the change to propagate around the internet.

OK - unfortunately, I can't yet find V1.6f - the last stable release of MatEdit.

However, I did find V1.6g, though that was an experimental version which was never released. So, I've enabled that for you to download and have a play with. Please let me know if it causes any problems.

In the meantime, I'll carry on looking for V1.6f and if necessary, replace 1.6g with it when I find it.

I strongly suggest that you rename the V1.6e exe and keep it - rather than just overwriting it with 1.6g. That way, you can switch back to e if g causes problems until I find f.

New stuff is appearing every day - including new sections.

I have absolutely loads of stuff to add yet, but at least there are now less links that say 'File Not Found'!
