There is going to be a post about this, so you can happily discuss the fact that your not having a stroke... the General Chat is now called Geek Culture.

This follows some additions to the AUP, which I'd recommend you read otherwise I'll end up with an inbox of "I was banned, WHY!?!" (some aren't in as friendly words mind you)

Enjoy.

We're all geeks, no point in avoiding the issue - but really in todays society there are far worse things to be .

Hopefully we'll have a relaxed OT forum now that'll have more interesting geeky threads, like the good old days.

I guess that 5-6 page debate on evolution set this off.

I read it. It wasn't there when I was typing this Which brings up another point. Aside from being at the top of each forum ... how can we make it so people actually read sticky threads? Possibly make the titles flash lol. Alot of posts are usually answered in the stickys, yet still right below the sticky will be a post asking almost exactly the same question as a sticky threads title

You can't make someone read a sticky thread. Hell, most people don't even read 90% of what's infront of their eyes, let alone a sticky thread.

You for example didn't know where to find the AUP, even though there is a link to it right under the very "Post Message" button you had to click on to ask where it was We're talking probably less than 40 pixels away, but you still missed it.

It's just the way it is!

I liked the part we discovered Eric couldn't satify a women. hehe ^_^

I say to make people read the stickies give them titles with the word, FREE or BOOBIES in it. If you have both words, you get bonus points and more people. (atleast in a progamming forum)

Make the image shown next to a sticky post red, and flashing, like it is in an attempt to cause a seizure. That should get a few more people to check sticky posts

Make newbies take a test before their status get's set to normal - like a pop quiz based on the AUP.

Q. Someone on the forum has just pwnd you with a witty remark, do you?:
a. Insult their mother.
b. Demand that the thread be locked.
c. Ignore it.
d. Send in the troops.

This is a quote from Ian T, speaking of Indi locking the thread.
Quote: "Kind of came just at the same time as the policy change, so no harm done."

Therefore, I do not figure that the thread alone set this off. But, that it was in the plans already, due to past conflictions from the same types of threads.

Can honestly say I've never been a fan of Star Trek, Star Wars on the other hand, that's a different matter.

If no-one gives your an answer to a question you have asked, consider:- Is your question clear.- Did you ask nicely.- Are you showing any effort to solve the problem yourself 
