i dont know how else to tell people that i need help but to post a new topic. so just lock this if i've made a mistake

About The Game
Quote: "
Name: Zombie Hunter Open Source DBPro Project
Style: Horror FPS
Time in development: 1 month 20 days
Release date: November 2005 - first DEMO (may change, im not so sure right now)
Point of Game:
*You play as Carl, a human zombie hunter. your job is to destroy all zombies..
*in Survive Mode you score by how long you survive and how many kills you got when you were still alive.
*in Story Mode you get to play Carl from the moment he first saw his wife turn into a zombie to the end when eventually he too turns into a zombie.
*in Multiplayer Mode you get to play via LAN or TCP/IP Deathmatch and Capture the flag. i will see if i can add survive mode with multiplayer.

at the moment i'm concentrating on the Survive Mode, just to get the game engine up and running."

interior:

Hi Lukas.

You know I like this game
I'm currently with 2 games under development and I can't work hard on a stuff for you
So I think it would not be as good as your project deserves..

Good luck with your team request..

btw.. I think this post is perfect

yay, someone likes my game it feels like im making a game but the whole community ignores it. or maybe im just paranoid or whatever

thanks, i will need luck if someone actually is going to be interested in helping me

if im not getting any responce i will do my best at the modelling and texturing. then when i release a demo i can show you that the game really needs some serious graphics update as most people know: graphics is not my "expertice".

(neither is programming.. err.. i'm just lucky i guess, yeah that's it.. luck.)

I think your game is cool too!

I just think you need better gun models!

Can you put some videos up too?

(Maybe that would help with people willing to help etc too...

I would like to do your DBPro version. I may be able to contribute some high quality graphics too to the game. I can also assist you with some better gun movement using some trig. Also, you may want to look into math89's level editor that he is coming out with.

thanks

gamedev,
the gun movement thing. could you post a code snippet of it?
i will look into his level editor, but if it does not have the features im looking for, and it's not open source so i can add them, then ill write my own. (which im doing)

DBAlex,
i have a video here: http://home.no/n0id/downloads/test.avi.

it will show some flashlight, movement, bulletfiring and crates that breaks.
(low res, because if else it would get too big size)

Here is the code for dark basic pro:

This will give realistic gun movement. The camera will not bounce up and down though.

Gamedev,

The link to ZombieHunter which is within Lukas' signature, is the link to his original Zombie Hunter game, made in and for DBC.

Lukas W,

I like the emphasations...hehe. By the way, I am working on a model of a rocket launcher, in my spare time, for your game. I am not sure when it will be finnished, due to it being a lower priority(school and carreer comes first). Maybe soon, though.

Lukas W,

The word 'emphasation' means 'To give emphasis to; stress'. I was speaking about the capitalizations of the words IN and FOR.

Lukas W,

Here is a the exterior of a house for you. Beware, this is my first attempt at such. It may look better with a fence and a backyard...just a suggestion for in game style.

Click for full view

I have attached the .x file and the .bmp texture image to this post. This model should work fine in DBPro, unlike the medkit I designed for you.

* Houses (the nerd have agreed to help me out, but im sure he cant do all of them by himself )

* Machine Gun + Ammo
* Shotgun + Ammo
* RocketLauncher + Ammo (nanobrain?)

Lol i'll try and use my poser 6 to make some zombies but don't know how successful i will be =) last time i used it i got sorta far with it. You would however need to texture them yourself

I also have shade 7 E standard but cannot remember if thats the one i lost my key too =\

Well scratch that idea guess i'll have to find my 3ds max 5 cd again if i want to make any zombies =\

Lukas W,

Below is a screenshot of the rocket launcher I am creating for you. I said I would have it in a few days, a few days ago. However, work and my wip game keep me pretty well tied down. Not far to go. I am off work on Monday. Therefore, I should have time to finnish it. By the way(off topic), I would like to pronounce that my wife is expecting, and we will be having our first child together in about 7 months, if all goes well!

Lukas W,

I have added the trigger and trigger guard onto the gun, bringing the polycount to a total of 932. Is that too many? However, I am in the process of creating the texture and texturing the model. If all goes well, it will be completed by mid-day tommorow, before I head out to work. Below is a render of the weapon with the trigger and trigger guard added on, and of the referance image I used to create it.

oh my, that looks so good

932 polygons will be just fine the current weapons (i made) are 100-500 (if i remember correct). and those are made for dbc.

i take it dbpro can handle a lot more detail than 500 so not to worry about the polygon count NanoBrain

and thanks for helping me on this
